A New Motivational Song For Me...Lady Gaga...

Music is a great motivation for me. When I’m too tired to do something, if I put a song on that has a really good beat…it really gets me going. Recently I came across a song that works great as motivation for me…Lady Gaga’s song Bad Romance. Now I’ll say upfront that she wears some outrageous outfits and her video’s are kind of out there but this song (and a couple others) have a really good beat for me.
This particular video is her depiction of the when someone joins the music industry. They start out innocent, their drawn in, sometimes they end up hooked on booze or drugs, their sold to the highest bidder (the one who offers the music contract) and they finally accept the lifestyle and embrace only to find the only way out eventually is death.
I had a big day yesterday and was really tired when I got home last night and I still had to make dinner, do dishes and make cookies. I popped on my headphones with my MP3 player, set this song on repeat and went right along. I got everything done. So, I’m including a link to her video so you can decide for yourself…but WARNING: You might not want to play this if you have children in the room also there is some swearing in it but it’s just the B word.

So, did you like the song? What did you think of the video? Would you listen to any of her other songs?

That's allright Hatley, mylot is a discussion site and it's fun to hear different points of view. Personally I have never really cared for Beyonce. She has a beautiful voice but I don't like her songs that much. She did a cover of "Diamonds are a girls best friend" in a commercial once and that sounded beautiful. It's all a matter of personal taste .

Hey, no problem. I know she's not everyone's cup of tea. I just felt like sharing and thought those that did like her would enjoy it and those that didn't might find that they do. I'm glad you took time to watch her video though.

I find myself torn by the likes of Lady Gaga and so many other performers today. On one hand, I too, find myself bobbing to the catchy beats--but let's fact it, we're all hard pressed to find entertainers that are good role models for this--our modern society and our modern world.

I have this song of hers on my ipod. It is the second song from Lady GaGa that I have downloaded. The first song I downloaded form itunes was Poker Face. I actually like Bad Romance better. But I don't really watch her music videos. I've seen bits and peices of them, but I'm not really interested in music videos as a whole. At least not anymore.

She definately is...I think that's what some ppl like about her. I just happen to like her music...at least some of it. I've seen some of her costumes she's worn to awards and stuff and talk about crazy.

Ho Twoey! I too love to listen to music especially as a stay at home mum with a ton of things to do in a day! BUT honestly I can't stand Lady Gaga and her music! Her voice annoys me to all heck and her music just sounds wrong to me! The beat is good though and I could see it working for some, but not for me sorry! As the saying goes to each their own!

I like the rhythm of this song and it is OK to listen to - I have enjoyed listening to it many times - the lyrics don't bother me because I rarely listen to lyrics of modern music anyway. I can certainly appreciate the way it can make one want to dance or move around to the beat. I am a ex musician myself so appreciate all genres of music. The video is not something I would choose to sit and watch, but there again, there are many music videos that leave me at a loss.. It's probably my age coming through there though! Although, when I was a kid growing up in the sixties, I preferred to listen to the Beatles than watch them! _Derek

I love the beat to it. For me the lyrics are important as well...not just with this song, but with every song. I think the lyrics are what tell the story or share the view. I love finding songs and researching the lyrics...sometimes it turns out that the song isn't about what you thought it was.

I see another Gaga fan here...LOL. For a long time I would have the radio on and two songs would come on that I liked, but they would never tell the name of them or who sang them, it was only by accident that one time when I was watching the Oprah Winfrey show that she had Gaga on and she sung Paparazzi and that was one of the songs I had heard on the radio. So then I went to Youtube and it was there I found the other song I liked and it was Bad Romance--so now I'm a die hard Gaga fan.
as for outlandish clothing--when you think of it there have been other performers That would wear outrageous, flashy costumes but seem tame now, like Elvis, Elton John, David Bowie, Madonna, Kiss...heck even Liberace used to wear flashy clothes

I didn't listen to her music for a long time b/c I thought she was crazy but then I heard the Bad Romance, researched the idea behind it, watched the video and found I really liked it. I still think some of her outfits are crazy but she is talented...at least I think she is.

Hey Twoey! I am actually a big fan of Gaga. I've been a fan of hers ever since her song Just Dance came out and I am still a fan. I think that her music is just so amazing and so different. She is not your average cookie cutter singer. She's very talented and even though there are many people out there that criticize her I really like her. Her outfits are very out there and I think that is the reason why people like her. She just doesn't use these outfits onstage, this is just who she is. She is the most unique singer out there right now. I'm actually listening to bad romance right now. There are actually a few videos out there showing her performing with her piano before she was famous and I have to say that she was really good.

Paparazzi is also an amazing song. Her songs are just so amazing as well as the beats. Her stage presence is amazing, quirky and so fun.

Too bad that the story is actually based on real events. Even a famous artist could kill themselves and then they will get even more famous. Really, when I think about it, I don't think I like the celebrity world.

It is really terrific how music moves and motivates you to keep going. I am not up to date on current music. I still love disco for the energy it produces in my mind and my actions.

I had heard this song before seeing this discussion, but never watched the music video. I'm always curious to watch the video when a new song comes out, so of course, I enjoyed it! I like motivational songs as well. When I'm up and about getting things done, I have to have a good beat too. I'm glad you were able to be so productive! Sometimes all it takes is some great music! Thanks for sharing the video with us.

I so agree with you on music. It can be so energizing or very relaxing. I enjoy all types of music. Not too into rap or hip-hop. Mostly classic rock, jazz, blue grass, even some classical. I listen to this video and it was really something. I did enjoy it. All these skinny B's do irritate me though! Hehehe

I like Lady Gaga but not really a fan. I love her songs. I find her weird sometimes and also her videos but I actually like it. She is different, have her own personality, style and for me she is unique. I also like the beat of her songs. I enjoyed this one. Thanks a lot!
