Why Ganguly always blames bowlers for the defeats?

Saurav Ganguly after losing to Rajasthan Royals said: Our bowling effort wasn't the best and we looked pretty ordinary in the field as well. The wicket was slow and it was gripping a bit, we didn't pace our innings well. We need to deal with the pressure well, the potential is definitely there in the side. It is very surprising to hear this. Everyone knows that bowlers cannot contain batsmen in this T20 format always and one should be ready to chase any score sometimes. It is the batting that is letting KKR down rather than bowling as far as this IPL3 season is considered. In first match bowlers restricted RCB to a modest 137 something and KKR won. And against DC also they won due to BOWLING though the score was modest. And the last two games they lost. They lost due to poor batting. They are unable to score more than 150! And Ganguly blaming bowlers is not right. Bowlers cannot contain opposition to less than 140 all the time! What you think? Share your views... Happy Mylotting!

I agree that bowlers cannot contain the runs in T20 but...it is their duty to give their best..I agree all what you say that Ganguly telling bowlers are not good or whatsoever ....There batting line up is really good but they didn't play well...and it is not good by blaming bowlers but....when the opposite team scores over 170 or 180 then naturally bowlers will blamed. They didn't do well like that.I'm just saying it is natural...but he also have to talk carefully but he missed....So it is just natural...you just know how a captain will feel a match is lost....so it is just like that...Hope they come back good and not win the cup because I'm from chennai.. I want CSK to win...cheers..

Think that bowlers really bowled well and restricted the opposition to 140 and in last over opposition goes for slogging and with edges, sixes etc and they score 25+ from last over. Then there is nothing much bowlers can do! So batsmen need to be ready to tackle such situations. When opposition can score 170 then they too can. When KKR batsmen were batting they never seemed to worry about keeping Required Run Rate at an achievable limit. That is what made spectators wonder. When they face Mumbai or some in form team they cannot expect 140 or 150 score to win, they need to score more than that. So they just need to change their approach. Happy Mylotting!

i think yesterday's batting performance by the much hyped kkr was the worst ever...rarely you will see a team with wickets in hand not able to chase down 169...

You are right! It was amusing! Everyone wondered whether they really wanted to win or not. Ganguly should come at No6 or No7. That is good for KKR. Happy Mylotting!

to tell frankly ganguly's days as a good cricketer are gone... wat he should do now is leave kkr and become a judge in bengali talent contests lik he does in between ipl..thats a better fit for him...why you think adam gilchrist retired so early from international cricket...coz according to him its very ideal to retire when your at your best...but what did ganguly do...he kept his ego even when the selectors kept dropping him for tests and odis and then he made up this whole drmama of forced retirement...now one can see his ego to be on the kkr side...a man who struggles to keep pace in odis..what wud you expect of him in t20s...srk has to decide whther he wants to make the team strong or cater to the kolkata sentiments for ganguly

What do you expect him to say? I batted poorly and could not accelerate in the middle and that cost us the match :). Naturally the bowlers are the only other people whom he can place the blame on and that is why he is going on with it. KKR batting lacks the power of the other teams and that is why I was surprised when I saw that Gayle was not in the team!! Cheers! Ram

Yes they always want to find scapgoats for defeat. These limited over matches are anywas loaded in favour of the batsman with all those field restriction and limited bouncers etc etc. Yet when sometimes bowlers fail, captains who are mostly batsmen blame them. ALso bowlers have to put up with some unhelpful pitches.

Simple, he is not a bowler and if he would have bowled, RR would have won much earlier. Yeah, I agree with you. He has been re-instilled as the captain, so if he and the batsmen are blamed again, he will definitely lose his captaincy! He is thinking he is too smart!

I don't understand why he is so obsessed with Captaincy. Ganguly should have said NO to captaincy this time and should have played as a player in IPL3. Everyone would be respecting him for it. And there is no doubt that he won't be playing in Next Edition of IPL or IPL4, so he should have just enjoyed his batting. Now he is struggling unnecessarily. Rahul Dravid and Laxman also lost their captaincy so that is not a big issue. If one plays well fans will cheer for him!

I feel not anyone else but Ganguly is to blame the way he was playing was hopeless. He is become old now and should give up the captaincy if he really wants to retain a place in the IPL team. I would say Sachin played beautifully and so did Kumble.
