When you go to the movies do you enjoy going by yourself or with friends? I'd rather go on my own as it's like I am lost in my own world with the big screen and the surround sound. I also enjoy going with friends but I guess it depends on teh movie that I'm going to see. So do you like going to the movies on your own or with friends?

I tend to go alone. The last few films I wanted to see I was the only one who wanted to see them. And I had a great time.

It's been years since I went to the movies. The last few times I went I attended with my ex and I fell asleep!!! Can you believe it?? What a waste! I simply cannot understand why I would do that. The same thing happens at home now too. If I sit down to watch a movie I fall asleep.
So I watch it from the dining room where I am on my laptop. I miss bits of the movie but at least I watch most of it. If I'm drawn in, I will stop what I'm doing and watch from my chair.

I enjoy doing things by myself and going to the movies is a favourite of mine. I do go with friends too but I often take myself; the only thing that annoys me about going alone is that I have to go in the daytime because it is not safe enough for me to drive to the cinema when it’s dark, park my car and walk alone to the theatre and that really aggravates me! It is fun to go with like minded friends to see a really good film and get together afterwards for coffee and discuss the movie, can’t stand the ones that talk right through the film like my mother does; she’s the worst person to go to the movies with!

I enjoy going to watch a movie with a friend or family member, so I won't feel lonely. This way I would have someone to discuss the movie with, before or after it starts.

It's actually one of the things I haven't done alone yet. I'm one of those who has a hard time walking down the street alone. It's on my list though (to see a movie by myself). But I'm not sure I would enjoy it.

I'm like you in a way. I preferred going alone so I could get caught up without having to converse with anyone. Then again it would depend on the film. I've gone alone and enjoyed it and I've gone with friends and enjoyed it too.
Now that I have a very special boyfriend in my life, I'm with him when I go to the theatre or we both see a Netflix at my home.

Hi friends,
I have always found it an odd thing to be with someone when going to the movies. Especially if you're on a first date.
I think watching a movie should be done alone. After all, there isn't much conversation (I would hope) during the movie. I for one get right into the movie and get distracted very easily.
So I prefer to be alone, but to each his own.

dear coffeeshot,
it depends on my mood and the type of movie that i am going to watch. when it is a comedy, i prefer to go alone. i dont want it that the companion keeps pulling my sleeves while she is laughing uncontrollably.
i prefer watching movies in the house. that way, whatever my reaction, i will only see it myself.
it would be less embarrassing for me because i tend to get carried away with my emotions while watching.

I like to go with others, because you are all experiencing the movie together and can talk about it after wards.

You know I have NEVER went to a movie theater and watched a movie without a friend or family member with me. When I was younger my sister and I always went with our parents. Then when I met my ex I went with him all the time until we had kids then we didnt go out together like before. In the summer time a local theater has free movies twice a week for families so I take my kids there a few times. My ex and I would take the kids to watch kids movies once a month or so when a new movie would come out. They loved it. Now that I am single and my ex takes the kids all day on Sundays I cannot imagine sitting in a theater and watching a movie by myself. That seems so boring. I'd much rather find a girl or guy to go with me. I really dont watch movies though. I have a bunch of movies that are brand new and have never been out of the packages. When my ex lived here he would watch movies all the time and sometimes while I was online I would watch the movies as well. I never just sit and decide to watch a movie by myself though.

Hello coffeeshot,
I enjoy watching movies with a friend, or my husband and my son. I enjoy it more when I have companions, because we can roam around the mall or eat in a restaurant after that. But I was able to watch movie alone already. I was so depressed that time, and my friends are still at work, I don't want to go home immediately so I decided to go to a movie house while waiting for my friend.
Have fun watching movies. :D

I don't like to go out alone anywhere, except when I go running or skating, and I like to be alone then, because I don't wanna be slowed down.
