I've been staying in a company for quite a while now, though the pay is just enough for myself, I'm still happy. The work environment is good and my relationship with my other co-workers is twice as good. I should have chosen to transfer to a new company with a higher pay but I did not because of the friendship that I have built and it is important for me..Just sharing this to you guys...

Well, i appreciate how you love your work environment and the co-workers. Rather than money, good relations are highly important. But why do you think, even if you go a new office, you can always stay in touch with them. And may be in new office, you can get a similar environment. Separation is lifes moral. So when you move away from some relations, then only you can meet new relations, to meet different kinds of people of your choice.

Like you I loved my job, I loved my coworkers. I was so happy with everything. The job was perfect. I had the days off that I needed off. I worked very hard and I gave up my days off and cancelled family events because I was needed at work. I was very committed to my job and was very proud of what I did.....then we got all new management in....they gave 3 people in our department vacation and did not replace anyone but expected the rest of us to keep up. but I was the only one that could do our job. I couldn't keep up...and they fired me...poor production. That was 6 months ago..but they fired me telling me to come back in January and that I was rehireable. Personally, I have never heard of anyone being fired but would rehire them. I haven't gone back..same managers that fired me.

There's more to life than money. Like you, I love my job and get on really well with my colleagues. We all work hard but still have time to have a laugh together. I know if I moved to a bigger company I could earn more but I work full-time and the thought of spending 40 hours a week in a job I don't like with people I don't get on with is just terrifying!

I think you are very lucky that you have found a job in an environment which you enjoy. Too many people put the importance of money over happiness and fulfilment. You could transfer yourself to a better paying job but there is nothing worse than the feeling of going to a job you hate every day.
I once took a pay cut to work in a better environment with a company who appreciated my work and gave me the most brilliant friends.
