Have you heard of LetterRep.com? For me this is the best website where you can engage writers to compose a letter - any kind of letter or article for you. You register for free as a writer and the website will email you or present you a list of prepaid orders from customers in need of letters. The website charges customers $20 for a letter regardless of length or content (a one paragraph letter or 1000 word article). If you're a good letter or article writer and your letter gets chosen or bought, you'll received 50% of the revenue or $10. There is a 30-day waiting period for your payment to be credited to your PayPal account (LetterRep will explain why). Now, let me tell you why customers pay as much as $20 or even higher: If an application/resume letter gets you hired for a job, or an apology letter won you back the affection of a loved one, or perhaps a letter of appeal/explanation got you out of a tight spot or restored your credit rating isn't it too small a price to pay?

No, abitcurious, there's no minimum payout. You get paid as soon as it is due 30 days after date of purchase. The reason for this is for customers to have a chance to accept or to ask for a refund. From experience on the website, there is only a 1% rejection of letter purchases and refund cases. If ever you or other MyLot friends know of other websites that pays writers, I would appreciate some tips too.

I thik I'll try this one. YOu can check out my profile for some ideas of websites that pay writers or other freelancers. Also try Helium and Associated content. Just starting out, too, so I'm no expert yet.
But it helps that other writers are very accommodating here in myLot. When I fist published my article a few days back, myLot has been very supportive.

This actually sounds good. There's no payout minimum or something like that?

One dollar os far too cheap. I suppose it depends on how you value your time and how long it will take you to write the article. Just consider, if it's going to take you and hour then you are earniing just one dollar per hour. But it does depend on if you are willing to work for that rate. I have one client at the moment who buys articles in bulk and because of that I charge $4 for a 250 word article and $8 for a 500 word article. However I do know of more experienced writers that earn so much more per article too.
Rates do vary but if you deserve more then aim for more.
Hope I have helped :)

Your client is really very fair. I've been offered less this but I did not accept it. This seems gold though right now because I'm only earned .07 from triond for a longer article.

It will depend on the site that you wrote the article for. There are a few out there that don't offer but a few dollars per article that you write. And if it was only an offer, you may want to read through your article to see why they may have only offered you such a low amount.
If you are interested in freelance writing, there are a number of great sites that you can work for that have fixed payments, etc. I actually write for a few different sites and am always on the look out for a site that is more fair to writers.
The ideal places to get work would be for some of the national magazines, etc. Think of the amounts you could be making per word then.
Good luck with your writing!

Yes me too! I'm on the look out for good sites that pay well. But for now, I'm still learning the demand of online writing (most clients want articles with SEO content). Also after years of shelving this passion I've gone a bit squeaky on the joints so I'd like to re-learn again.

Hello, France. It all depends. Is the article exclusive to the person who is offering, or can you earn with it on another site? It does seem rather low, but as an example, if you can write the article and then post it on another site for upfront payments and page views, there's the potential to earn quite a bit. However, if this is just to be used by the person paying you, it's far too cheap.
Only you can deced whether to accept or not, but it may be worth talking the bid up, to show that you're not desperate to earn money - even if you are.

LOL. Not that desperate yet. I'm used to writing for free so I have no idea how things go in the market place. I will have to give all copyright to the person who is gonna pay for this article.
Got a bit hesitant because I just earned 50 for a 3 page research paper the other day. But this looks more of a long term job.
Anyway I'm not accepting it.

I think that one dollar for an article is a rip off. I believe for every 500 words charge 5 to 8 dollars

Well a lot of people are doing it in most of the freelance sites I bid on. Though thank God I'm not that desperate to work for a fee like that. others think that $1 is quite good.
