treasure hunting

I am a treasure hunter, I love to find new things, from a new book, a new discovery. a new friend, or just a new point of view. Due to the Internet there is so much more information available and because much of it is not reliable it makes the hunting even more of a challenge. I don't think I could live at a better time for me. My Hubby would love to have lived in the past but I just want to learn about it not live there. For me it's just more treasures to find.

I appreciate what you’re saying. As much as we all sometimes miss the ‘good ole days’ and curse technology and all its hassles, the Internet is responsible for lives being changed, friendships and for many a sense of purpose. I too feel so very glad that I have been able to experience it in my lifetime and I wonder what my daughter will have at her fingertips by the time she reaches adulthood, I hope it will make life even easier for her. There is a lot to be found on the Net, that’s for sure; it is an endless treasure hunt...

It would be fun to travel to the future, say 50 years ahead, I wonder how things will change by then?

Hi Pat...the kind of treasures you refer to are sooo wonderful to discover. And yes, like you, I'd rather learn from the past but live in the here and now. Each time of my life has brought its bad and good, but new things can be very exciting to explore. Karen

You would be describing me, as well. I learn new things everyday, and love to share them with others. I have often told people that I collect trivia because I do not have to dust it. I also tell them that learning about new things is my Alzheimer's prevention program. It is true. I intend to keep those little brain cells happy and active for a long, long time. I do find actual treasures as well, and I try not to buy new ones. I also have plenty of stuff in my house.

Paper is the main problem around here, we do genealogy and the amount of paper that involves is unbelievable.

I must admit I do enjoy treasure hunting, and have found eBay to be a great source of little treasures in the past. I also find new treasures every day, just being here in MyLotland.

You said well. Really knowledge is treasure. We can learn something till our last day. There is no end of knowledge. In our short life we can learn very little. So we should utilize evey moment of our life to know something. I hope your treasure will be more enriched.

I enjoy that, too! The internet is a wonderful place to learn about things you've never even thought of! I found a treasure a few days ago when the weather was warm and I was outside walking around the yard--a cardinal's feather! It was lovely and went in my treasure box where I keep such things. I know it's silly for a 55 year old woman to have such a thing but I occasionally enjoy going through it and smiling at those things.
