While my friend was at the store, he returned to his vehicle to find that the vehicle next to his had the windows rolled down, had three young children strapped in car seats in it and no adult in or around the car.
The kids weren't big enough to get out of the car seats, the windows were rolled down far enough that someone could open the doors and take the kids out.
He left the parking lot, seen a policeman, flagged him down and let him know the situation. The policeman made a quick U-turn and was on his way to the store where the kids were.
If you seen what my friend seen, would you report it?
What would you do?

Do you know, I think I would have reported it too. Heaven only knows what could have happened to thoe children. They could have been snatched,or taken away with the car too. Plus the kids were strapped in too which means they couldn't get out if there were any other dangers inside the car.

Of course I would report it! And I have. I haven't seen children left in cars but in Arizona I saw dogs in cars with the windows up quite frequently. The sheriff encouraged people to call for kids and dogs in cars and he was VERY tough on them. A child or animal can die within minutes in a hot car, it's nothing to ignore.

I think that your friend was right to report this yes. It is not right to leave small children in your vehicle especially when you leave them so that they could possibly be taken. I could not imagine living without my daughters I Love them very much and I would never take such a stupid chance with my childrens lives.

I would first write down the plate number. Then I would wait there to see how long it took before the "responsible" adult came back. While waiting I would call the police. I would not leave the children there unattended because if something did happen after I left I would feel guilty for not doing something.

A guy recently left his handicap son in the car to attend to some matter in a nearby office. The weather was very hot and he left the boy without the car air-aircon switched on but only slightly open the windows. Someone passed by and saw the boy drenched with sweats. They immediately called the police and the man was whisked to the police station for questioning. I found out later that he was fined for his irresponsible attitude. Definitely I will report the matter if I see children left in the car unattended.

If I saw what your friend saw, I think I would do the same. Children should never be left alone in the car. As you mentioned, it would be easy for the children to be kidnapped especially with the window rolled down too far. Even if the windows are rolled down, I don't think it's safe for the health of the children especially if the temperature is high. I too would call the policeman to see the situation. If the store has a security personnel and is somehow near the car, I think I would let them know too.

Wow, parents these days, eh? I have never seen anything like this happen. I have seen people leaving their pets in the car alone and I felt like reporting them for such cruelty. So I can just imagine that I would do if I saw children in a similar situation. I think I would report the parents, as it is just an absurd lack of judgment and common sense.
Seriously, how stupid can someone be to leave their children unattended in a car? Even if it is for a few minutes, that's all that it takes for something could happen. With all the sick people in this world, this should be common sense. It is just asking for something bad to happen. Then again, maybe I'm the fool for expecting too much out of people in general.

I would do the exact same thing, but I would have stayed with the car and called the police on my cell phone. I would also have tried to detain the mother as well if she came back, and gotten the licence plate of the vechile if she got away. The police could then track her down.
Children have lost limbs and lives because of being unatended in cars. And, its down right wrong to leave them like that, no how long they are incars. It may not have looked like they could've done damage, but rest asured anything's possible.

If I noticed it.. Why not.. I'd go and asked for help. I had an experience with this. Back when we were kids.. My father went out and grabbed something. My brother hit the accelerating lever.. I don't what's it called. The car moved backwards. I got so nervous. Good thing my father came and tried to stop the car manually.. He looked so funny good thing he was able to get inside and avoid further accidents,

I really don't know what to do. If I want to leave it be and not cause problems for the person or the children, Maybe the owner is near but you don't know?

ooh heck yes I would have reported it. Only a lazy person leaves there kids in the car alone and dosn't take the time to get them out of the car and bring them in with them. If they didnt intend on bringing the kids in the store with them then they should have left the kids home with someone responasible or not gone out untill there was someone else available to watch them plain and simple.

I think it is wise to rapport something like that.
I might wait a couple of minutes to see if someone comes to the car.
I probably would ask the person why they left the kids like this?
There are sick people around, they would steal the kids if they have a chance.
Some people just don't realize the danger, until it is too late.
