Disney is among one of the greatest cartoonists ever. It's pretty sad now that the Disney Channel has been reduced to little girls and boys prancing around trying to be funny and hot when they're not. I really miss all the old Disney cartoons and movies. Which ones were your favourite back in the day? My favourite movies have to be Aladdin and Lion King, they were very very cool and exciting to watch, plus Hakuna Matata was just plain awesome. As for TV cartoons, I liked all of the old animated shorts that they came up with. I don't really remember many of the old cartoons I watched other than the shorts, but I do remember Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers. That was one cool show, I'm currently re-watching it on YouTube and I still love it.

"Back in the day"..that's funny! I remember when Disney started making movies like "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes" and "Flubber" with Fred McMurray! I loved all those Disney cartoons and movies. Heck, I remember watching cartoons on Saturday mornings in black and white because most people didn't have color televisions, only the rich folks. I saw the original Mickey Mouse Club, it was great. I don't like the direction Disney has been going with children. They're trying to be modern and appeal to today's generation but would be more popular with parents-and thus, children-if they would return to their wholesome family image. Set an example for children instead of encouraging such inappropriate behavior.

I totally agree. These days it's all about Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers, and I really don't think it's giving children a good idea of what it means to be a kid. Instead of fawning over an idol they should just have fun and laugh at silly cartoon characters.

Burrito88, I remember those shows! Did you ever see The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh? I had such a crush on Patrick McGoohan! And Tom Tryon, what a HUNK! I remember Davy Crockett, Fess Parker recently passed on to a better life. Disney made a big difference in so many lives. They are only a wisp of a memory when compared to what they do now...the quality has really suffered. Still, for oldies like me, Disney is a wonderful memory that shaped our lives.

I remember the 'old days' when Disney had a show on Friday nights. They had episodes that were a little like mini-series with different characters like "Texas John Slaughter" played by Tom Tryon, "The Swamp Fox", Leslie Nielson, and "Davy Crockett" with Fess Parker. Those were real TV shows. Some of the cartoon episodes were also great. I still have vague memories of Goofy demonstrating what it was like to be in outer space.

my favourites are probably Lilo and Stitch, the Lion King and Alice in Wonderland. I have a lovely big cuddly Stitch my husband bought for me, that sits on the back of my sofa. along with my cuddly Cthulhu

Lilo and Stitch is a pretty cool movie too, not one of my favourites, but still a very good movie. Alice in Wonderland was great too, it's just one of those classics you can't go wrong with watching!

I am a huge fan of Disney animated movies. While Aladdin and Lion King,, as well as The Little Mermaid are up at the top of my list, Beauty and the Beast is my number 1! This is the movie that I can watch over and over and never tire of. I love the story, the characters, and the music as well as the animation. Gaston is a great villian and watching the beast transform to a hero throughout the film is classic. Watching Belle crouch over the Beast after the final fight and whisper that she love's him brings a tear to my eye every time. Ok, I'll stop now. Now, if we add the Pixar films in the mix...I could be here all day.

The weird thing is that I think I like disney movies more now than I did when I was a kid. I think that it helps that I live close to disneyland now and when I go there I think of the movies and when I watch the movies i think of disneyland. I think it makes for a more enjoyable experience overall. I really like aladdin and when I went to california adventure last year I watched a live aladdin show and it was legit!
