It shouldn't. I have a steal rod in my back and it doesn't go off. Why, I don't know.

It hasn't made anything go off in decades. If it did I would just say I have a rod in my back. No big deal. They can scan me with the hand held scanner.

I certainly would show this information to them. The xray machine probably will go off. Could be embarassing for some but I bet you will get through it just fine. What a bugger. Stents in your chest? Why for? Where ya going? I am so snoopy. Nevermind. Have a good flight. Becareful, and stay safe.

Okay, I willl then because i am curious and a real snoop. I find you an interesting person and feel we are (online atleast) friends. I recall you saying before that you had had a heartattack. I guess I didn't realize or didn't hear the rest of it. Hey, do you know a town by the name of Morristown? The reason I ask is that is where a hunk I like online lives. He was a marine and rides a motorcycle. Has a motorcycle touring business. His folks are both in their 80's and he is living with them to take care of them. Just wondered.

I am really not sure. Maybe you could call the airport ahead of time to ease your anxiety. I heard the full-body scan is being used in some airports.

I would call the airport and ask the question, it has nothing to do with the airline, rather with airport and security issue.
Have the card ready. They may tell you if you can be excused from xray...
Hope you have good trip,
HUGS

I'm not sure as it depends what materials they are made of. I have a plate with screws on my elbow and it did not set off any alarms. Perhaps the Airline you bought your ticket from can tell you.

I see everyone has already confirmed what I was going to say. Just let them know and keep your cards with you. Don't get too anxious, Lakota, and have fun wherever you are going.

Hello sister, i donot know what you mean by stents, are the gel filled balls or some thing made of metal, it is better to show them the card, because the machine can see every thing in you
Hugs
Happy posting

Whats a stent?
It sounds like a metal peice in your chest for some medical reason.
Yes, definatly tell them! If they find it themselves your in big trouble and will hold others up. Why wouldnt you show them? And the cards most definatly. What kind of a person just thinks that its okay to go through with metal on or in them. You need the cards and you need to be able to show them upfront. Keep them in your carry on or something and tell them once you get to the first xray and any more after that. Be careful though some countries and nations may not be as receptive for it.

It might not show up, a friend of mine has several screws in her ancle and the only airport that they have noticed it on was the one in Tel Aviv. And she has traveled all over the world. But if you have your card then I can't imagine you'll get any trouble, she always has hers and show it if the alarm goes off.
