I think most of our children who living in U.S.A. has so much. They have never experienced the taste of hunger, and feelign of homeless, and all other disasters in their life. My sister's son, my nephew is one of the lucky one. Who has everything in his life, and he just not respect what he has is a God given gift. Sometimes, he has a tableful of food to pick for dinner, he simply throw away the one he doesn't like. Instead to the trash, he could save it for whoever wants to eat them. I think my sister should teach him better on this. There were millions of hungry children out there who doesn't have food to eat. That is what I think our lucky generation should appreciate what we having now.

hi yes I live in the U S and most of us are l ucky to have a variety of food, and be able to afford to buy it. I have never wasted food as I did when we werein our own apartment, cook for myself. What I could not finish at one meal went back in the fridge to be eaten at the next meal or sometimes frozen and eaten later on in the week. but do not make the terrible assumption that all children in the US have so much as a lot of family yes here, are very poor and some children do go without too. we should be helping our poor families and their children first before we send money and food abroad to poor people. Yes you are so right that we should not waste food. I always tried to only fix enough for what I could eat, but if I had anything left over,it went into the fridge to be eaten the next meal or the next day

Hi Hatley, Do you have the United Nations search toolbar that donates free rice to starving people? It is easy and it doesn´t hinder you from doing other things in your computer. If we all help, things can get better. I agree with you that there´s poverty everywhere. Sometimes children come to beg at my house. I don´t give them money (someone will take it away from them) but I prepare a good sandwich, bring them inside my house and make them eat it in front of my eyes. This freerice.com is something else though. It reaches other people and doesn´t cost you a thing. Both things can be done. I don´t waste. For me, leftovers are part of another meal. But that is not enough. You and I cry when we see "Extreme makeover". But for each family that is being helped, there are millions in trouble. Let´s put our grain of rice.

Hi, Maybe you can show your nephew a UN site called freerice.com. There he can play games and earn rice to donate to people who are starving. When people have too much, when people throw away leftovers in a household and buys unneeded food in the super, it is normal that the vhildren do what their parents do. It is not a matter of saying but of showing by example. I discovered this site and it doesn´t hurt me at all to have unloaded the toolbar where I can work at my things while donating up to 5000 grains of rice a day. And when I have time, I play games that make me learn also. Happy posting!
