Do you think a filipino who works abroad is a good thing or bad? For some reasons, the answer is really neutral...
Both of my parents are working abroad, right now, my father is jobless and our mother is the one who is supporting us (her children) by working as a teacher in a private school in UAE.
Sadly, I told my father to look for jobs in other countries, like USA, New Zealand, Australia, China and others. But he said, even if he is going to apply, traveling there is not easy. Do you agree with him?
I mean, with 12 years of my life he was on and off with jobs. He always resigns and says that the company is not good or anything. I mean come on, do you have to be choosy in looking for a job that suits you? I mean before you quit he could have at least have a back up of what company he is going to work in, but no, he gets to be unemployed for like how many months and later finds a job then a few months later he quits.
Now, he is already in UAE and quit his last job and now he is jobless for like 3 months. He said if he doesn't find a job there in the next two months he will go back to the Philippines. Honestly, I wouldn't want him to go back here, not because I am so angry with him (which I am been keeping for the past 12 years), but because he will never find a job in here anymore. Come on he had like 2 years of unemployment before he got a job and quited after 3 months. I mean, as a father of three children he could've at least look for a job before he quit to support us and not just rely on my mother.
And here I am while working as an intern, I am looking at some websites where he could find a job while he is there in UAE. I saw this legal job website of the USA and frankly, there are a lot of jobs for him in there, but he said he will be having a hard time to travel or something like that.
Could someone please tell or explain it to me how working abroad process really works. I know you can't just got there and look for a job because there are a lot of paper works to do. What are the needs in order to find a job abroad safely? The last think I want him to have is a stable job at least in the US since we have relatives who are living in there. I don't want him to be jobless, because right now, we are in hell of a crisis situation and it is affecting us (his children) because of his unemployment. I want to convince him to work abroad, but he always says it is not easy and all.
For those who are working abroad or who used to work in the abroad, please explain it to me how it really works. The employment and all in other countries.

Please don't get me wrong, but you also have to think that working abroad is hard, specially in Arab countries (It has nothing to do with their religion) but Arab are just too strict with the works that needs to be done in time and the working hours are sometimes longer than usual... I have a brother there, he's been there for 2 years already and he says that even they pay that much, he rather choose to work here after his contract with little pay than go back abroad.

Well trying to look for in the US right now is really hard right now because of the crisis they are in right now. But I think once you are out of the country it is much easier to find a job abroad than go back home and apply again from here. It is really hard if your father is a choosy type of a person he will never be satisfied in finding his ideal job which I think is nowhere to be found.
