Sreesanth will ahve his contracte ended this year and then he will be free to move to Kochi.Howver, the kind of form that he is in right now shows that he is not capable enough to lead the side.Beside the status of icon players will be removed from next year and so I think that it will be a wrong decision to make Sreesanth the captain. However the owners can take him in the Kochi team as it will enable them to attract more crowd support.Kerala is not a force to reckon with in domestic cricket right now and do you really think that a franchisee who invested a lot of money will appoint Sreesanth as the captain or will he go for a more experienced cricketer who is in good form and can change the course of a game?

Sreesanth would love to become the icon player for Kochi. That is his home team and probably he would perform emotionally and with the heart for them.
I think he should be allowed to go to Kochi, though it would depend on the owners to really shape the team that they want for Kochi.
Cheers!

I think he will more or less automatically go to Kochi next year. He is the only international cricketer from Kerala at the moment. I'm actually wondering how this team will be constituted. I can't think of any prominent cricketer other than Sreesanth, so except for him, the team will be made up of foreigners and Indians from other states, I guess. Most of the other teams have a few locals at least, so this one will be unique.
So will Pune for that matter. Not too many prominent cricketers from Pune either at the moment. The Maharashtra Ranji trophy team, which is basically mostly from Pune, is one of the weakest sides going around at the moment.
