My objection starts with the notion of monotheism and goes on from there.

Because my religious experiences lead me to conclude there are many Gods.

Yes! There are way too many denominations that teach so many different things yet they are all "Christian" beliefs. If they are all "right" then why are there so many different denominations? You have Methodists, Baptists, Church of Christ, Lutheran and so on. They all contradict each other as well.
Christians are followers of Christ. The bible is the only reference Christians have to following Christ.
The reason for so many denominations is one person didn't like on church so they made their own. That is pretty much the gist of it. If a person is a trus Christian then they will live by what the bible says and not change the scriptures around to fit their lifestyle like so many "christians" do. Live by the bible. Obey God's word and try to be Christlike. IT is really sad that many modern day "Christians" pervert the gospel and make true believers look bad and turn others away because of their teachings and behaviors. But when it comes to heaven and hell WE are accountable for our own sins and not others. As long as I try to live a good life and live it by how I feel God wants me to live it then I am happy. I cannot speak for all Christians and certainly cannot speak for other religons. Just my own beliefs which is one thing that many "Chrisitans" have a problem with. They speak their opinion and not the facts of the bible and then others think that ALL Christians believe that way. If you want to know what Christianity really is then read the bible. Simple enough. It is about faith, love and your PERSONAL relationship with God. Not what some millionair televison evangelist says. He is not God.

Well I will say this....many people misunderstand what Christianity really is so therefore they tend to reject it. I do not have a problem with my religon at all. I do have problems with people who pervert it and twist it around, but that happens in all beliefs.

Thank you for responding. You didn't exactly leave Christians out of the equation as I asked, but that's all right. I can't see that you have any problem with Christianity at all.

I think it is a wrong assumption in your very basic statement! How can you leave Christians out of the equation? If you do so, then the equation for Christianity will get imbalanced and an imbalanced system needs to be balanced first before making any analysis on it!
What Gandhiji said was based on both Christ and Christians, which therefore never imbalances the equation! Anyway, Christ-Christianity-Christians are the inseparable entities of a major religious system that upholds faith and humanity universally like most other religions! We can never differenciate these by our personal assumptions and opinions, leading to unjustified debates!
Thanks for this nice topic and have a good day!!

Hi bestboy, I know that Gandhi was familiar with the teachings of Christ and I've heard that he at one time considered becoming a Christian. Later I think that he realized that all religions contain the same truth. It is clear to anyone who has studied the life of Christ, that very few Christians are anything like the Christ they claim to follow, although there are always a few exceptions. There is no doubt in my mind but that the soul who came into this earth as Jesus was a highly evolved being who came to teach us about life and living. My problem with Christianity is that instead of following his teachings, they made him into a God and worshiped him. Jesus practiced and taught compassion, and some Christians practice it, but it seems that those who shout the loudest about being Christians show little compassion in their everyday life. One has only to read the Sermon on the Mount, (Which by the way Gandhi is said to have called the greatest teachings the world has ever seen),to realize what a wonderful world this would be if it had been followed. Blessings.

It sounds like you don't know why you dislike Christianity, you just do. It also sounds like you know nothing about it.

I have many reasons that lead me not to like christianity and leaving christians aside my reasons start in the bible and its deceptions. I'm sorry i dont want to go into specifics.

Maybe the reason for this is because there are already so may different kinds of Christian religion and Christians are already confuse on what they should believe in. We need absolute truth and nothing but the truth cause even if you teach 99% percent of the doctrine to be true but 1% percent is not true, its still wrong. Christians or maybe even all people should know the truth about all things, the truth about God and know the true gospel of God then its not impossible not to be Christlike. There's just something in their faith that's why they cant have the fulness of it. That's the reason we always need to search for the truth because as the bible said, the truth will set you free.
