Hello, as a hinhu, i have many faiths and believes, i believe in our gods and goddesses, i visit the temples in my city on Sundays with my wife. We go on pilgrimage too, if one's wife is alive, they should go for pilgrimage together.
Well there is a saying that one goes for a pilgrimage, only when the deity desires, this i have experiened several times. Now i am in Hyderabad with my son's family, am attending a seminar too, but few days back i went Tirupati with my wife to pay our prayers
Last evening we went Birla Temple here and got a 'darsan' of the God and goddess, i could get up the 200+ steps to reach the temple on top of the hill, i never thought i could do that.
So i think, it was a call from heaven, we feel so happy.
What is your view on this, do you visit your place of worship and prayer, alone or with your spouse and family members, please share your views.

I am Muslim, and as a Muslim I have an obligation to worship prayer in five times a day. If there the time, I'm, my wife and my kids go together to prayers at the mosque, but if not have time (or because was reluctant leave house), we chose to pray together at home

hello advokatku,
i mean no offense. isnt it that even as a couple, wife and husband dont pray together for muslims? men always are with men and women, with women.
christian families pray together: husband, wife, children, go to church together and leave it also together. they sit side by side with each other praising God and while praying.
how true is it that muslim couples have to be in separate rooms while worshiping?
hope you can explain. it is really confusing.

I am a Christian and every Sunday is my Lord's day. Actually I have a Christian family too so we all go to the church together to worship on this day. Every Wednesday we also do go the church for our prayer meeting. This day is devoted mostly for our petitions and thanksgiving to God the Almighty. I've been really contented and joyful with my faith and would love to share this to everyone.

Hi Bhuwan,
Yes, you told us that few days back you went to Tirupati. I do have faith and believe, but on myself. I believe in me and that is what gives me more strength. I think God is everywhere, not in particular place. I rarely go to temple. If you love your family and believe in yourself, then that is what is prayer and worship and rest is all fake, I feel. Going to different places is just like seeing beautiful places and just another enjoyment and satisfaction..It's my personal thinking, please do not take it by heart. It's good you go to different religious places, seems you are too religious person..
People do different things in different way in the temple to perform prayers and worship. Well, Birla Mandir on the Naubath Pahad is a magnificent Hindu temple of Lord Venkateshwara, entirely built in white marble located in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is so beautiful. Though the chief deity is Lord Venkateshwara, the temple has pan-Hindu character with deities of Shiva, Shakti, Ganesh, Hanuman, Brahma, Saraswati, Lakshmi and Saibaba. The selected teachings of holy men and Gurbani are engraved on temple walls.
Birla temples are open to all Hindus including dalits, as identified by Mahatma Gandhi and other Hindu leaders as one of the major social evil that was to be reformed in modern India as part of Freedom struggle.

We were going to the temples and pilgrimages as a family all these years. But now the children have their own official schedules and that is not possible. We go to temples as per our conveniences. Recently I climbed Thirumala Hills twice. I am a person with BP, sugar and severe knee and feet pain. It is purely because of Lord Venkateshwara's grace that I could climb 3,550 steps and 9 km. distance without any problem.

Hello Sir,
You are visiting temples with your wife and offering prayers, good to know that. Many people are choosing the worship path after a particular age in their life. My mother in law is always spending more time with temple and going for pilgrimage. She spending her day time for colleting flowers for the near by temple. She felt much happiness to do all these works. I too believe in GOD and visiting temple as and when I get time. Sometimes it is once in a week or twice in a month etc.
I am happy to know that you are doing great with your family.

Hi, Prof,
Well I do go and visit temples too. I even go to churches or even a mosque. I actually go to Shirdi once a year, every year.
I am not married so, no spouse.
Sometimes I would be accompanied by friends but if they aren't willing to come I would make the trip/ s on my own.
I am yet to visit Vaishnodevi and Tirupati.
An incident I remember after going through your post, last week I was at Nasik, what I saw made my jaws drop. People from Mumbai were on BAREFOOT going all the way to Shirdi at a temp of 40 deg C and 90% humidity. Barefoot walking around 500+ kms. goodness what kind of "bhakti" and power they get from God. It takes 3 days of continuous walking to reach there.
The road to Shirdi is inclined with Ghats and these people were normal people as anyone of us. Its incredible.

Hi bhuwanji
I too visited Tirumala with my family and whereever we go, we go with our entire family and enjoy our trip.Birla Mandhir in Hyderabad is worth seeing especially during the night. Buy some pearls for your wife from Hyderabad as Hyd pearls are famous and you must buy in a reputed shop otherwise people will cheat you by giving a duplicate pearls. Take your wife to the Badeh Chowdi Hanuman temple which is very powerful though it is a very small temple.
