I can type a message without looking at my cellphone. I can really type it fast with just one hand. Many people that I know are really good in typing messages in their computer without even looking at it like the students that I know. They are looking at their teacher as if they are listening but in their pockets, they are texting. It's amazing how these people can do multi tasking that looks like without any effort. These are the youths today. How about you? how fast do you type?

I am a trained touch typist and have been a secretary for many years. I have a fairly fast typing speed and do not have to look at the keyboard.

I learned on a manual typewriter too. If we made a mistake we had to correct it with a special eraser and if you rubbed too hard it wore away the paper so you had to start again.
We were taught to NEVER rest our wrists on the desk whilst typing because that was what gave you RSI. The teacher would stalk the room with a ruler and rap you if she caught you with your wrists down.

It really depends on what i am doing at the time whether if its an email message or if its just a chat or something like that as when you are chatting you are less likely to worry as much about how your spelling is as much as you would if you are typing an email message.
I can get going pretty good at times, but sometime i can get typing too fast and my fingers get ahead of me and i will make some misspelling errors so i try to be efficent with my words so the other person will understand what i wrote without a problem.
There are times that i type just looking at the screen and there are times i type never looking at the screen and i can do both very easily and not sure why i just don't do one or the other, but sometimes i just want to make sure i hit the appropriate keys.

i can type texts in cell phones really fast too. but my speed depends on the type of cell phone i'm using. i find nokia phones the easiest to type on and i'm really fast on them - even with one hand. i can type pretty fast on computer too but i can't type without looking on the keyboard completely. and my typing on computer is unorthodox.

I've never been super fast at texting, even when I had a phone that a typewriter/keyboard thing on it, the digits are just to small for my big fat fingers. Typing on a computer keyboard, however, I am a mad wizard of fastness, fastitude and fasticity. I can type up to 100 wpm on a computer, which blows most people away, so I'll take that over texting fast...I'm too old to care much about that anymore anyway.

I can type pretty fast on the computer without looking at the keyboard, not that I can tell you the position of each key, but in my mind it just know by itself where to go for the alphabet without having to look at it. I believe the brain learns by itself through experience and remembers when the fingers touch the keyboard. However for those smartphone physical keyboard it might be more difficult as the feel is not like a computer keyboard. But I believe the more you try to type without looking, the better the brain trains itself to master the task.

Overall, I'd say that I have a good typing speed when I type with both hands. Over the years, I've written a lot of papers on my computer, which has helped my typing speed. I can now fairly easily type without looking too much my keyboard. However, I do have to look down at my keyboard occasionally. I feel comfortable with my typing speed.

At a proper qwerty keyboard I'm pretty quick as I learned at school. I was taught on one of those old manual typewriters with the heavy keys and no "delete" button so you had to be accurate with those. Computer keys make you a bit lazy because they are soft and you can delete or change anything that you go wrong.

Lol yeah I sure type without looking at the keyboard but I'm different when it comes to other traits. I am so quiet that they almost see me as mute. I type fast but that doesnt mean I'm a very good person.

I myself also was amazed with the ability to type without looking at the keys of the keyboard or see the screen ... until now, my typing skills are bad, maybe if counted, one minute to 10 words
