According to Yahoo! News, WARNER BROS (yeah, that's right. I capitalized it.) Is in the process of getting the movie rights of Bleach!!! Here it is, see for yourself!
Via Yahoo! News:
"LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Warner Bros., already developing an adaptation of the manga “Akira,” is in the process of securing the movie rights to “Bleach.” The story centers on a 15-year-old boy who has the ability to see ghosts and meets a female Soul Reaper, a member of an order that escorts the souls of the dead. A fight with an evil spirit causes the Reaper to transfer all her power to the boy, leaving her stranded in the human world while the boy takes on her job as a fighter of evil. The manga, written and drawn by Tite Kubo, has been published in weekly installments in Japan since 2001. Viz has collected the stories in graphic novel format, so far releasing 29 volumes.
“Bleach” has been adapted into an anime TV series that airs in Japan. An English version airs on Cartoon Network and Canada’s YTV. In Japan, the title has spawned features and a musical.
Filmmaker Peter Segal is in negotiations to produce, though not direct , the adaptation with Viz Media, the anime publishing house that releases the books in English in the U.S. Michael Ewing, Segal’s partner at Callahan Filmworks, will also produce.
As the director of such comedies as “Get Smart” and “50 First Dates,” Segal might seem an odd choice to shepherd the “Bleach” adaptation, but he’s been seeking to expand his portfolio by taking on darker, more action-oriented material."
Even though i'm not a fan of bleach, I want to share this news on behalf of Bleach Fans.

After Dragonball Evolution, I don't see how anyone can get too excited about this idea. Bleach works well as an anime, and if it weren't for the tacked on filler story arc they added, would be a near perfect action oriented anime. This will end up likely being a big pile of crap like all other live action adaptations. Why not just pick up the rights to some of the OVA movies and show them here instead? Be a hell of a lot cheaper then remaking it. Stupid Hollywood and having to remake everything, sigh.

Haha! You're not the only one who thinks like that. When I mentioned it in my blog, almost all of the people commented that they are not oh-so-excited. I think Warner Bros. bought the rights of the movie because it's popular....or should I say overrated like Naruto. I wouldn't be surprised if Hollywood also adapted One Piece, Gundam, Naruto, Detective Conan and *erm* maybe even Pokemon. Just think about it, if they didn't change ANYTHING and sticked close to the anime, there wouldn't be any excitement and it will lead to disappointment.

I don't think Bleach is suitable for live action adaptation. How are they going to animate the shikai and bankai of the shinigami in a live action movie? It's going to be a failure like DB revolution. I was ROFLing at Goku's kamehame while watching.
My favorite character in Bleach is Byakuya.. and it's going to be tough to animate his Senbonzakura Kageyoshi..

This sounds great but I hope it will not turn out like what happened with Dragonball Evolution. Bleach is great as an "anime" but as a "movie"? I really don't know what to say about this. But I am hoping for the best since I am a huge fan of Bleach! hehehe hopefully, they won't let Bleach fans down. :)

I watched bleach until the fillers got very VERY bad so I'm probably considered almost a fan but I'm still not sure what to think of this lol.
What kind of movie adoption will it be? Hopefully anything but live-action, as those really suck.

This sounds great! I wish they would be wise with the casting choices though and choose actors that would fit the characters and not make any major changes to the characters, their outfits, or their personalities. I think Bleach being made into a movie is great... Hollywood is known for its good special effects and costumes and stuff like that. As long as they don't do what they did to Dragonball, then I suppose Bleach The Live Action Movie has great potential--- if not excellent.
