Who here likes the Vampire Diaries TV series

After the success of Twilight (the books and now the movies), other vampire books geared towards teens are making an appearance on the screen. One of those is the Vampire Diaries. I have to say, I never really cared about the books, but the TV show, well, it's much better. I think the storyline is much more interesting then the books are. So I was wondering, are there any more people here that like the Vampire Diaries TV show?

Hello bieke,
I am really interested in watching Vampire Diaries, but my schedule does not permit it. In our country, the show is being aired at around 7 in the evening, I will arrive at home at around 8. So, I don't have a chance to watch. I am just hoping that I will be able to find a compilation cd of the series. So I can watch it.

That's how I watched all the shows aired up til now (we are at episode 9 I believe, while the US airs episode 15 tomorrow). Here's a site that has all 14 episodes (plus some VD information ): http://www.thevampirediariesseries.org/

I've tried watching the series and have found ot hard to get into, I just find it so cheesy...;)

Raising my hand right now..
I have never heard of the Vampire Diaries before. It was by accident when I learned about the existence of such a TV series. And when it comes to TV series, I'm a huge fan of House, CSI: Las Vegas and Supernatural.
Anyway, I had my doubts about this show. But I told myself I've got nothing to lose if I check it out. So, from there on I was hooked!To the point wherein my husband is starting to get annoyed by Damon's photo that I've posted in my Facebook profile!
Well, I'm in my 30's and I wasn't sure I was going to like the Vampire Diaries that majorly aims for the teenage audience. But was I so wrong about my assumption!
I've always been a fan of horror movies and one of them includes vampires. And I told myself I should just check this show after all it is about vampires!
Aside from liking the show, I also bought the books. I've just finished reading the latest book "Shadow Souls". Like you, I much prefer the show because I much prefer Elena to be a normal human being that is divided between Stefan and Damon. But I did like what I've read about Damon in the books. The soft and gentle part of him that he tries so hard to bury deep inside. But the more that he tries, the more Elena tries to pull out that part of Damon, the good and gentle Damon.
