When the world end?

Unless a major catastrophe occurs beforehand , in 4.4 million years , the sun will cease to provide heat and light, then there is posibiity of eneding this life..what are more possibilities..

Like you said it would have to be something catastrophic. Metorite could possibly hit the earth but it would have to be so big and coming so fast that we could not detect it in order for it to destroy the entire world. More likely it would destory a much smaller area. And in 4.4 million years, I will not be here to worry about the sun no longer burning, so I am going to live life for what it brings and not worry about the things I can not change.

I think that mankind won't last for as long as 4.4 million years, people will destroy the world much earlier. I think it will happen due to severe climate changes or perhaps a devastating world war, with weapons of mass destruction involved. But I don't think it will happen in my lifetime.

With all of the apocolyptic messages that we hear about the year 2012, it is quite refreshing to hear that there are going to be that many more years before the sun will cease to provide the light and heat that is necessary to sustain life. I do believe that there is going to be some event that happens in the world in the next couple of years that is going to make the way that human beings think about the world different, but I don't think that the world is going to come to an end then.
