Can you be a good person of faith without going to church (or mass, or other religious services)? Or does someone need to attend these services in order to follow their religion correctly? Do you attend some kind of religious services? Why or why not?

I believe it is. Because attending religious services makes you even closer to your creator. Dont get me wrong im sure by doing good deeds you please him too . But think of it as a celphone You need to recharge once in a while . Being ni church makes you feel recharged with your faith! With the group of people whom you have the same beliefs with. The bonding that christ gives the group is what really counts its not the number of days attended. Its how we mingle and share our experience with our peers thats what i think matters the most when we are in the church or in any service that we attend. ;)

Like I've posted to others, it definitely can't hurt to attend (most) church services. I really think, though, that it makes God happier to see you doing things to help others more than it does when you simply go to church. Thanks for the response! :)

i don't believe you HAVE TO attend church services to be a person of faith, I have faith and believe in God, but i do not attend church on a regualr basis, That does not in any way affect the way i feel. I do enjoy going to church when i get the chance, it's a great way to come together with others and praise and worship the Lord, but i bellieve that can be done anywhere, not only in church,

I agree, going to church isn't something that you NEED to do, but it (most of the time) can't really hurt anything. Thanks for the response. :)

I think a person can be good even if he/she does not attend church every Sunday. There are some people who attend religious services but don't really follow the teachings and don't practice it. I think some attend just for the sake of attending it. Although it seems like it's not required, it's better to actually attend religious services for one's spiritual growth.

I agree. There are many bad people who attend services and many good who don't and the opposite too. And, although it's not necessary I do attend. Thanks for the response. :)

I believe in God; I am a religious person, but I attend church rarely. I don't believe I need to attend man's church to be a religious person. I stopped attending man's church in my 20's. I use to go boating/fishing on Sundays...I talked to God while I was boating/fishing and I was in his church. Now I don't boat/fish as much, but I'm still in God's church on Sundays and we talk, just about every day...not just Sundays in man's church.

I agree with you, we can interact anywhere, and sometimes it is a whole lot easier to do it outside of a church building. Thanks for the response. :)

I am born a Christian and Married a Hindu. I really do not believe that attending religious services are Mandatory coz I never attend religious services but that is my personal opinion.
There are lot of people who pretend to be so pious but treat fellow people even worse than animals. My mom says that if you see a person who is hungry feed him don't give him money, give clothes to a person does not have clothes to wear. Smile and treat people as human beings that is enough for you to be considered as a God human being just going to the church everyday does not make you one.

Definitely, definitely, definitely! There is even a verse in the Bible that says true religion is taking care of the widows and orphans, not true religion is going to church. Thanks for the response! :)

I attend church rarely, I don't think its necessary but I do think its good once in a while to do so, mostly for psychological reasons (ie any guilt you may have for not doing so or want to talk to a priest about a problem you may have with believing in your religion)

It's not like you'll go to hell by not attending the church. I go to Saturday mass regularly and I like it because I learn from the priest's teachings and I also love seeing fellow Christians worship the Lord. I still think that for a Christian, it's better for him to follow Christ's teachings even when he doesn't go to church regularly than attend it every Sunday yet he does evil things.
