Today, I want your views about Piracy. Piracy of softwares, games, music and movie (etc). Do you think piracy is right thing ? or you're against it?
Well, if I want to answer this question, Then it's difficult for me. I think piracy is ethically wrong, because it's kind of stealing. If we use pirate stuff then it's ethically wrong. This way I am totally against it.
There is a reason that people use pirated stuff. One of the main reason is that, they can afford it. Like, I belong to Pakistan, where you'll find tons of pirates dvd's and cd's and very few unpirated stuff. Like Microsoft Windows 7 costs about 400 dollars, then the average pay per month of a pakistani guy is 80 dollars ( for whole month) then how in the world he will able to afford it? It's not possible. If he can buy windows 7 for just 0.15 cent from market and why he will spend 400 dollars on legit windows 7 dvd? For 3rd world countries they should offer these kind of things at reasonable price so stop piracy. Otherwise, it's very hard.
2nd thing is that, whenever a person buy a movie ( or game etc) they should have the right to share it with anyone he wants. He paid it and own it, So, he should be allow to share with it, even on internet...
So, what you think about piracy please Comment.

There seems to be no ending to Piracy. Greedy businessmen are raking in tons of money doing this underworld business at the expense of those who are earning their living through entertainments. I am against all this piracy but one could not avoid the temptation of buying pirated DVDs at dirt cheap prices compared to the genuine ones as it is beyond the reach for many people. Our Government are after these people who are ruining the livelihood of our entertainers by confiscating all pirated DVDs in licensed outlets but can never abolished them as the open market has been their best outlet to trade these pirated DVDs. To kill pirated DVDs, we consumers should avoid buying them.

Well said, but these businessmen should consider the prices of those DVDs and CDs according to the country. As I have mention before that in 3rd world countries buying genuine DVDs are not possible unless they will price it righly. So, completely finish piracy the companies have to think about their strategies.

I know it's wrong but I'm using myself piracy software. The main reason is that I can't afford to buy any software,music/movie DVDs or something like this.If those things were less expensive, people wouldn't use piracy software. Here's the problem-BUSINESS INTERESTS.People are dependent on software(either for work or having fun)so if you want it,you must buy it!However if you can't afford it,there are plenty of piracy sites where you can download it for free.

Yes totally agree with you. These people are crazy, the prices of these softwares, games or movies are so expensive that an ordinary person can't afford it. Especially, student like me, whose pocket money is about 30 dollars per month ( which includes all my monthly expense) So, how in the world I can afford a DVD cost 60 Dollars? Especially, when I can buy the same pirated DVD for just 0.50 cents? These things are very expensive to buy. I think you should price their products according to the countries, and looking at individual household income. Otherwise, don't think they can finish piracy at all.
