Hi anitarei,
Actually Malaysia has a varieties foods and each state has their own special foods.
Usually char kue teaw is famous in Penang. Beside that they also have laksa. It is also a noodle but it is more thicker then char kue teaw noodle. For those who look other type of foods beside noodles, you can ask for Nasi Kandar (rice). The top in town Nasi Kandar is in Minden (near to University Science of Malaysia).
If you go to Kelantan, they are famous with Nasi Kerabu and Nasi Dagang(rice).
You can find masak lemak cili api in Negeri Sembilan. It is eaten with rice.
For breakfast, Malaysian usually go for Roti Canai (bread) or Nasi lemak (rice).

Thinking of Malaysia, Indian food comes to mind as well as the fusion cuisine noodle dishes. As long as it's fresh and without MSG, everything is great in Malaysia.

My favorite Malaysian Food is Char Kwey Teow, too...
There are a few restaurants that offer Malaysian cuisine in the Philippines but it doesn't taste as good as those bought in hawker centers in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore...

I love eating Mee Goreng (fried noodles), Laksa (spicy noodle soup), and Nasi Lemak. Especially those cooked at a restaurant called Ristoran Sri Melaka in Kota Kinabalu, I liked the Nasi Lemak there...
