To Say Something Or Not

I live in a small town, and rumors can go around like wildfire. I had a customer come in my store the other day and was talking to my husband about a car dealer in our town having an affair with an insurance lady. Well it turns out the insurance lady is our choir director at church, and has been married for over 20 years. I do not know if this is true or not. Her son who is from her first marriage is very protective of her and has been known to get in fights real easy over protecting his family. We are good friends with the son, but not so close to the mother. My concern is if the son hears this rumor, and it is not true, he will go out and do something stupid. I don't know if I should say something to her, as far as the rumor going around or just keep my mouth shut and let nature take its own course. Honestly, I don't care if she is having an affair or not, I just don't want to son to end up in trouble.

dont tell a soul then. just let it slide out of your system. the son is not actually your problem if you think about it. it s his own problem for being aggresive. just ignore the whole thing.

If you don't want the son having trouble you really should talk to the mother. Nature don't have it's own course, people are making the course for nature to follow. If you want to protect someone do something about it. Don't wait for it to come.
