This was the first 'Mania I'd ever seen in person and it was damn good. Shawn Michaels vs. Vince McMahon, John Cena vs. Triple H for the WWE Title, Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton vs. Kurt Angle for the W.H. Title and MITB were all very good. The match of the night goes to Edge vs. Mick Foley in a Hardocre match. What about you?

My favourite match by far was Shawn Michaels versus his evil boss Mr. McMahon (this match also won 2006 Match of the Year). Although there was not much actual wrestling involved, it was brilliant entertainment and the psychology was electrifying. It actually felt like HBK wanted to murder Vince for what he had put him through, and the massive dive Shawn took was absolutely breath-taking
A close second would be Foley vs Edge in the fantastic Hardcore Match. However, in my opinion, the worst match had to be Booker T & Sharmell vs Boogeyman. Ridiculous, and barely even worthy for a SmackDown taping, let alone WrestleMania

Well I have this on DVD. I am not sure if i actually watched the PPV live though was fews years ago so my memory is that good haha none the less I looked over the DVD and could remember the battles in which took place that night. I would have to say that the best bout of the night would have been either the MITB match would had some really good spots in it or the match for the WWE title between Rey, Kurt and Orton. there you had 3 completly different styles in the ring and they all delivered.

I actually did not see this show all of the way through until a few days ago. For some reason, I have never seen the main event of this show until recently. Don't know why that is true, but having seen the main event, I have finally seen everything that has to do with this show. And it is a very good Wrestlemania. Not the best, far from it, there are certain things that bug me, like the World Heavyweight Title match with Kurt Angle, Rey, and Orton going way too short for my liking.
Still speaking of that main event, that was a pretty good match all things considered. During the time, I was not interested for this main event, because of the build of it. Perhaps that's why I never seen Cena and Triple H until rather recently. I really missed out on that much. Plus Triple H tapping out was always fun stuff.
A close second was Mick Foley and Edge. This was an insane match. I pinpoint this match as the exact match that made Edge to sure. Also, this is the last match involving Foley that I really enjoyed. The Flair matches just never really did anything for me and he's been a sad shell of his former self in TNA. Edge really made a star out of Foley and this is the type of match that we'll never see in the sanitized PG version of today's WWE. Spear through the flaming table, good stuff all around.
The Money in the Bank Ladder Match I think was fun as usual. Rob Van Dam winning is something that I expected but it still did not take away from how good this match was. This did seem a bit on the low end of the Money in the Bank Matches but it was good for what it was. As I said, RVD winning and then finally getting his big break was something that was satisfying but many ways too little too late. I kind of wished it would have happened in 2002 or 2003 when RVD was really hot. By that time, he had cooled down.
So a pretty satisfying Mania all things considered. There have been many better. There have certainly been many that have been much, much worse. Middle of the road, leaning towards the good end of the spectrum. It was one of the most lackluster builds though but the finished product was good. Of course, the build for Mania 23 was far superior and the show was far superior, but getting ahead of myself there.
