Deleted post breeds

Now we've seen many posts about deleted posts. Most of them are "why did my post get deleted?" And, to add insult to injury, those get deleted too. But did you ever see one breed? I did. Yesterday my potluck discussion got deleted for being a "poll or game". I didn't think it was one, but whatever. The funny thing is, my discussion started breeding PMs and e-mails like crazy. I've never seen anything like it. Did you ever have a deleted post that generated responses and PMs and e-mails even though it was gone?
PS Thanks for the support and respond at your own risk!!!

Dang! I should have thought to do that...well the PM anyhow..now that is when you know you had a good discussion that everyone wanted to answer..it is always fun to do and can take the stress out of a day sometimes..but I guess..sadly that they are a no no..bad girl..

Well, I am told I make a great Cole Slaw and Potato salad..and not just from family..I took them to a potluck when I was working..and everyone kept asking who made it.. I thought oh no.
..it's crappy and no one likes it..
my mom who also worked there, told them all it was mine because I wasn't going to say nothing..lol but everyone loved it..so that was like a big relief.

Yes
I did one about a blue lamb roaming around on the Lot and that went. I half thought it might but it was on page two when it went. Then the PMs started rolling in and went on for a few days whenever someone opened their notifier and saw that it was gone.

Was the blue rabbit even here the first time that the lamb became blue?
I can't remember so it might not have been her colour rubbing off on it.

I had a few deleted discussions that were deleted even though they made it at the top and were sent in the daily digest. They garnered numerous responses but despite this, they were deleted after a day or two. Once I had a discussion about the birth of my nephew deleted.... I thought that was strange... I could not figure it out how it went against MYlot rules. ...I was quite upset but life goes on....

that might have been the reason
but is the birth of a nephew has to be considered as a milestone?

Birthdays and anniversaries sometimes are, but they seem to be inconsistent about it.

I suppose they considered it a 'milestone' discussion, idk...

Up to date, I've only had 3 discussions deleted, LOL.. and that's considering cool, like one every year for my 3 years duration here, LOL. Somewhat..
Yea, I've never seen a deleted post discussion survive. But extended till your PMs and emails, that's cool. Seems there's much to talk about still..

I've gotten a couple posts deleted . . . but that's as far as that went. I'm not popular like dawnald - hee hee!! I actually wanted to get back to you on that myLot potluck discussion but was bummed when I couldn't find it . . . and then I realized it must have been deleted (boooooooo!). I did a similar one on Yahoo Answers . . . I did a virtual skating routine! I started the beginning of a program - and everyone one posted the next step thereafter! Anyway, I would have loved to bring an artificial rink with awesome skates for everyone to wear at the virtual myLot potluck . . . and some snow cones!

Wow that's cool to hear Miss Dawn. It's just goes to show that most of the lotters here really enjoys responding to discussions even without the monetary gains.

I didn't see your post about potluck, so it must have been deleted before I got to it - which is nonsense, because I didn't get to it! - but you know what I mean.
I don't post many discussions and I have never had one deleted, so consequently I haven't had a lot of PMs or emails about it.

Now another popular warnings that I see often 'Do not respond as this post might be deleted' or 'Respond at your own risk'. Are we losing confidence in our own posts or some superpower has created this phobia in our minds. Whenever any of my discussions get deleted I will get pms from well meaning friends either telling me that my discussion has been axed or asking me what happened to my post? Are we not a breed of people who are now trained to face the hard knocks in mylot? We are all supposed be able to handle the iron fists rulings of mylot administrators?

hi dawnald I got the notice and was going huh what the f. is going on, what rule did that violate? has mylot admins completely lost their cotton picking minds? so poll or game, how can that be? I think they have really gone way too far, I cannot see how it could be a poll. well mine not to reason why, mine to do or die,how where the heck that quote come from, my mind seems to have a ton of those quotes but not know where I picked it up. I have began to think mylot admins has no sense of humor
at all.I have never had a post deleted yet which is odd but I guess I should be thankful. but I just do not get this one at all, I thought polling was like asking some question of everyone, and this was not like that at all. I wonder if someone even read that or if the software that use had just certain key words and any post that has even one of those just gotes bye bye. this makes me a bit u pset. grrrrrrrrrrrr.

No sense of humor? What? Me?? That's far from true. I'm hurt.
Let's clear one thing up quickly though - we do NOT use any software for removing posts. I'll say it again just in case that wasn't clear: We do NOT use any software for removing posts. Now that you know this you can tell anyone else who claims we do.

hi alice thanks as I was not sure and several people had claimed mylot admins used software. sorry to upset you as I do know you have a sense of humor,he he. but I guess I just did not recognize the post as being a poll type thing, we were just having some virtual fun but I guess I was just looking at it from Dawn's point of view. I have been super careful and so far have not had a post of myown deleted. I keep refreshing my memory on the guidelines and all other information. As things can be added or changed too. I just hate to lose earnings by responding to something that will be deleted.I am on a very tiny budget and after rent and board are taken ou t of my social security and SsI checks I only have a small amount of money left for the month , so my earnings here do pay for my internet bill each month, most of it any way. he he.
but I still goof every once in awhile and post to some one else's discussion that is deleted. at least now I know why as I get the notifications so thats good. sometimes I just go ahead knowing the discussion will be deleted as I hope to educate the newbies that making discussions about a question mylot admins has already answered in the questions and answers gets the discussion deleted. but somehow it does not seem to do a whole lot of good,

I've never had a response like yours. I'm not sure that I've had a discussion deleted or not. I believe it is your popularity! We hated to see our Dawn get deleted!:)

One of my highest rated and responded to discussions was deleted because of that. I was actually very surprised because I didn't think it had fallen under that catagory at all. It had long been resolved but if it had been active, I might have sent a pm to Alice..lol.
