How can we create successful mylot discussions?

I need help on creating successful discussions for my lot. I have created several discussions which I thought to be interesting, but then I realized they were only interesting for me, but not for the rest of mylot users. so, whan aspects should we take into account when creating a mylot discussions, so it will turn to be successful? How can we motivate mylot users to comment on our discussions?
