Firearms deaths fall as millions obtain permits to carry concealed guns
From its beginnings in the 1980s, the “right-to-carry” movement has succeeded in boosting the number of licensed concealed-gun carriers from fewer than 1 million to a record 6 million today, according to estimates from gun-rights groups that are supported by msnbc.com’s research. And while hotly debated, the effect of this dramatic increase is largely unknown.
I believe that the more armed citizens, the less crime. A criminal will not attack if he thinks you are armed.

War and the size of war has decrease with the invention of weapons of mass destruction. Interesting to know the inventory of dynamite was Alford Noble, in which we have the Noble Peace Prize. Noble thought dynomite would be such a destructive weapon no one would want to go to war. So his idea to create peace was to provide every country with the ability to destroy every other nation. Of course we learn through history that dynamite was not a weapon that brought fear into the eye of world leaders. Without nuclear weapons USA and the Soviet Union would have probably gone to war.
I say all of that to say, with everyone potently armed would be robbers and other criminals have to think twice. Criminals do not want to be shot, that is pretty simple. They are not going to rob someone who might shot them.
