I love going to garage sales because you never know what you're going to find. I've found some great things at garage sales. I bought tons of baby clothes for my daughter, for extremely cheap prices, and they were all name brand from Gap, Gymboree, Old Navy, Roxy. Clothes that would have costed me a lot of money had i bought them brand new. I even came across some antique hawaiian wooden items which i got for Less than a dollar each, only to later see them in a Hawaiian collector's book! I can only imagine how much those are worth.
So, what's your best garage sale find? are there things you look for when you go yard saleing?

it does make my wife excited just to see a garage sale specially if the person who is having a garage sale is a person we know that is good on taking care with their things. we know that we still be buying something that is affordable and neatly packed and perfectly working.

in my area, no one has any garage sales! that's the one thing i really miss about my old home/neighborhood. I really miss going to the garage sales. The next time we visit my mother in law, i told my husband we have to make it a point to spend a few hourse saturday morning going to garage sales!

I don't really look for something in a garage sale, i just check out whatever's on sale, yes I love sales too, I'm a bargain hunter. Most of the items I buy -- clothes , bags, decorations, and more (branded) clothes. I never feel lazy to get out of the house when there's a sale I'd like to go to.

Yes, a lot of the time i find something i wasn't even looking for. But, if it's a good deal and I can use it I buy it anyway. When i hear of a good sale, i'm always so excited to go and see what they have to offer. I like going early so i can get the first pick of the best deals. I really have found some wonderful stuff. There are a lot of times, however when i am looking for a specific item and i can't find it.

Garage sales are like treasure hunts. My best find was at a garage sale was a pair of Victorian looking stained glass earrings. I couldn't believe my luck when the lady told me it was only a dollar. It made my week finding those earrings.

Yes, they are exactly like treasure hunts! Once i started going to garage sales and seeing all the cool things i could find at great deals, going to garage sales almost became like an addiction. My husband and i used to get up early every saturday just to go garage saleing. You never know what kinds of treaasures you will find! It's the hunt for the perfect thing that really makes garage saleing so exciting!

my parents used to go to them, and in my teen years i used to go with them to check out used books. so, i have collected some interesting used books to read. some were classics. and some, they gave it to me for free to get rid of them.

Books! I love looking for books at garage sales. I have found some great books for myself as well as tons and tons for my daughter. Garage sales are a great place to look for books, because books can be so expensive if you buy tham brand new! I have gotten some really good deals on books, and you're right, some people just want to get rid of them so they do give them away for free sometimes!

that is very understandable, but once in a while i come across an amazing deal that is just too hard to pass up! You can find some things practically free at garage sales every once in a while. It is a deal like that that is very hard to pass up.

I love to go to garage sales too. I recently found a wooden rocker for my screened in porch. My daughter just bought one of the 3-wheeled runner's strollers for her little girl, for only $2 and it was in perfect shape. I have found like new clothes and other household items. One of my favorite side-walk sales to go to was held at a scrapbook store in Virginia. It was like a scrapping community sale, got a lot of bargains there.

Wow! your daughter got a great deal on that runner's stroller. Those are really expensive to buy brand new! I would love to find one of those at a garage sale, that would be awesome. You never know what you're going to find when you go to those sales. The scrapping sale you go to sounds great as well, it was be a scrapbookers paradise to get great bargains on scrapbooking supplies!
