Do you gave money to beggars..?

Whether the person begging is handicap or NOT, isn't for ME to judge b/c Jesus Christ ministered/helped/saved the poor as well as the rich. And is how I mostly decide on giving "beggars" money that I encounter. True story: A woman came up to me as I was coming out of the gas station. Asked me to buy a magazine subscription to help her go to school, I didn't want to be bothered with a monthly subscription so I said "No" and offered her a couple of dollars as a donation. She looked at me an said, "Sir, I'm not a bum,I'M TRYING TO GO TO SCHOOL SIR!" This shocked me, as I understood it that the magazine subscription was to help pay for HER schooling so I said to her, "I didn't say U were a BUM Miss BUT, I don't want to buy any subscription"... Before I could finish my sentence she turned her back to me and walked away with an attitude. I just shook my head at her and left.

As far as I am concerened, I think I seldom give the money to the beggar ,who may be not the beggar.I hate the cheater so much.

I give to beggers always those that are genuine

ah when i meet a begger i always give a coin to him,especially the old ,they are so poor, they looks very dismal,

Yeah, as long as I have some extra cash.. It feels so good helping others..

I do give money when I have some change or what not. Although sometimes if I am just in a rush I will not give even when I could. I guess it just depends on what kind of mood I am in and where I am going.

i dont give money to beggar as i feel like im just tolerating them to stay in the street and beg. maybe i will give them food or clothes but not money. coz if they feel that theres really money in the street by being a beggar then im sure there will be more beggar to come in the future knowing they can earn money from people.

some time even i would say rarely but i avoid to give those beggers who are able to work and not do because they can get sum of amount by begging. but in some cases our kindness become very harmful. there are number of gangs who are involved in this industry and they just make some children physically handicapped so that they could get some alms so there can be number of bad things also behind the scene. i think it is better to buy him or her some food instead of begging. may be he will not eat and sell it again. but by this way he get involved in working also.

hi anurage,yeah,sometimes i saw that you decripe in article happen,one beggar you saw he/her beg in one palce and they may perform like their foot was disability to walk,but in other day you may find he/her in other place walking with other beggars,when i saw that i was so sad, why did they do this?we give they money cause we think they loose their working ability.whereas they cheat us.now i am not give money to them even though their perform so miserable.

Beggars are a wakeup call for anyone about the sad state of society. I know that some syndicate groups here make a ton of money out of "professional" begging. But I'm sure the little kids and women and men who do this, professionally or not, will opt to not do this once given a better option in life. I try not to give to beggars, as much as I can. And when I do, I give them food instead of money. That way you're sure it somehow gets straight to their stomach instead of someone taking advantage of it.

I think that is a somewhat specials..the fact is that not everyone is honest..really need some..others are paid for by higher (and exploited) to do it.. honestly I don't know how to behave to the present day because I no longer recognize the honest people from those who make fun of you or attempt to bypass. Happened to me to give money to beggars, but sometimes I also regreat..

yes i do gave money to beggars because im giving only a little of what i have to them and it really wouldn't affect my finances at all. But for them it really means so much. As the old saying goes... It's possible to give away everything and loose nothing, and it is also posible to hold on tigthly and loose everything. The liberal man shall be rich, by watering others, he waters himself... But be careful still and try to see if he needs help really or he just don't want to work.

I used to give some specially when i noticed that the beggar really needs it but lately i just cant say whether the needs to be given or not. Basically i think everybody needs to do something about their situation in life. If your poor than try your best to have a job that suits you . Now if everything else fails then i think thats the only time you should be asking for a lil help like money.Nowadays people are looking for easy money where in we all know there theres no such thing as easy money we have to work for anything that we want to have.;)

Dear Anurag, Yes i gave money for Old people only who is very helpless and handicaps only. I see daily these beggars in Bus stops, Temples, Markets etc.. I'm very angry to see these persons whom begging with babies, young girls and boys

I do not give money to beggars.If I have feel some sympathy then I do but to some of the beggar I do not, most likely when they are kids. Some beggar kids have bad manners. They will hurt you if you will not give them money, so why keep noticing them. Beggars are not our responsibility so I guess it is not right to give them money.

Yes i give money to some beggars who are children and for old people. But i ignore healthy and young beggars who are lazy to work. Now a days easy job is to beg.

Beggars thrive on the kindness of others. If people give them money then they will be able to buy food for that day. However, not everybody will give and so it is something that is hard. No one wants to be in that situation. Yes, I sometimes give to beggars but many times I don't especially if I do not like the way the person asks for money.

I only give money..because i have nothing else to give them..and asking about to whom i give...i always prefer to donate my money to the beggar who is physically handicapped..rather then a beggar who is not...Actually some of beggar makes it habits..forcefully asking for the money which is very much annoying especially i notice this thing in railway stations..Sometimes i yell on them very badly..so they leave me..This is my funda...about it...have a nice day..

i did give some money to beggars years ago, but now, never. i clearly remember that five years ago a student i met begging on the street. i gave money to her, the strange thing was that i saw her go inside KFC to buy lots of hamburgers and chickens after half an hour. since then, i never give money to beggars, KFC in China is very expensive and seldom can consume that.

It's actually a hard topic to talk on. Beggars don't always have the blame on theirselves, something it's society, but some beggars really have the blame on their own. Somewhere it's a pity that you can't see the difference when you see them. When you got some pennies I'd say you could give one or so to him, but if you go to really populated cities as Paris... There are beggars all over the place, you can't help all of them.
