in some point in my life i had considered my self as a failure. it was when i was in my freshmen and sophomore years in college, from the seminary where had graduated high school, after those days i had invited vices in my life. tried smoking illegally, being drunk almost everyday and worst dropping all my subjects. A famous quote about failures is "you will learn only after you stumble and fall." this sayings or reprimand, as i consider it became my motivation in fighting for depression. during those months that i was down i thought of my family, all i need was a little inspiration and a good motivation to fight for life. well, still now i cant say that im successfully but im trying to be back on the right path. Motivation and inspiration will help. :)

We can not stop failure. It happens all the time. There's no one who wishes to fail. We always do our best. It's just that maybe our best isn't good enough. Don't despair! You are not alone. There are a lot of people who fail and still stands up and try again. Don't afraid to try again. Try and try until you succeed. There's no harm in trying. As for me, I failed in one of my major exams before but I didn't mind it. I just think positively. I tried again and so I passed. Just be optimistic. Believe that you can do it. I know you can...

kiel, everyday we make choices. every decision is a choice. even our attitude is a choice. the things we think about or say or do... all of them are choices we make.
if you dwell on mistakes and look at them as failures... it is your choice. but wouldn't it be much better to look at mistakes not as failures but a learning ground? that we can learn lessons from them. everybody makes mistakes... you don't have a monopoly on it. it is what we choose to do with it that matters.
negative energy will just make you feel down. why don't you concentrate on the more positive aspects of life?
everytime we get up in the morning, you can choose the attitude that you wear for the rest of the day. no matter how tiresome, dull or dark the day is going to be... you can choose to bring sunshine to your attitude... and the rest will follow.
in my profile page here in mylot... i put a some sort of a shout out message or words we live by for the day. mine is "happiness is a choice". mind you, i may not be happy everyday... but when it comes to making choices... i'd rather be happy. in my thoughts, in my words, in my actions... i'd rather be happy so i choose to be happy. if you do, mistakes can turn into lessons/learnings. each day is brighter. you'll feel more positive. you'll have a stronger spirit. you'll have the right attitude.
have i ever made a mistake?... yes, plenty of times.
have i ever felt so down in my life?... yes, countless of times.
have i ever felt so depressed?... a definite yes.
did i try to cope up with them?... most definitely, i choose to make my life better.
kiel, it is up to you to decide what to make of your life. all i'm telling you is that it feels great to love yourself a little more... by choosing and being happy.

I focus on the things that make me happy, my children, animals, nature, music, art, jokes, etc.

You do not understand!! You do not see reality as it really is. Mistakes are part of the great learning process of life. God is counting on you making bad mistakes. Why??? More is learned from mistakes than anything else. Every successful person has a list of screwups. THey don't talk about them but they couldn't be who they are without them. Stop looking backward. Look to the future. Look to the results after all that learning. You are a much better, wiser person for it. I just can't wait for my next big screwup. It's going to be glorious!!!!! Just think how much smarter I'm going to be!!

You do not fail you make mistakes. I have made a lot of mistakes in life. You just have to learn from them and it will make you a stronger person. I know it is hard not to think about it. It will get me down at times as well. Then think about all the things you have done well. Try to think more about the good things than the bad.

Hello Kiel.
I've had clinical depression for years, and I'm sort of aware how hard it is to deal with it. Anyway, I don't know what you went through that triggered you to have depression hits, so the advice I can give can only be general. What worked for me is having a goal and having something to look forward to to keep me from thinking too much and drowning in depression. Keep yourself busy and always think about the brighter side of things, not only the sad ones. If you're willing to share what happened I'll be glad to listen. Regards.
