Philadelphia Cheesesteaks

Oh goodness, Philadelphia cheesesteaks are so delicious. I grew up right outside of Philadelphia and have been eating this Philadelphia delicacy since I was quite young. There are many popular places to get cheesesteaks in Philadelphia, such as Pat's or Geno's, although there are many places that make a prime cheesesteak. I go to college about 2 hours from Philadelphia, and there are people here that live all over the state. Many of them still proclaim that there's no cheesesteak like a Philly cheesesteak. Have you guys ever had cheesesteaks? Or better yet, a cheesesteak in Philadelphia?

I have had a cheesesteak from a place called Charley's here in Hawaii. they make all types of sub sandwhiches including philly cheesesteaks. It was good, but i highly doubt it was anywhere near as good as a really Philly Cheesesteak. I would love to have a real authentic philly cheesesteak. they look so delicious. I often see it on the food network, when they travel to different places and eat the foods from that place. Anyway, i once saw an episode where they had Philly cheesesteaks..i didn't realize there were so many wys people eat these cheesesteaks, with all kinds of toppings..Oh..it looked so good!

Oh my, i can guarantee you that they are very delicious. They make them on campus here, but they just aren't as good as the authentic ones. Every time I go home for spring or winter break I make sure I get a cheesesteak while I'm home. I wonder how close your Hawaiian cheesesteak would resemble a philadelphia one. Do the locals in Hawaii put any weird toppings on theirs?

Well, the one i had was just pretty plain and simple some chopped steak, cheese, and i think there were mushrooms in it too, it was good, so if that tasted good, i can only imagine what an authentic philly cheesesteak would be like. sadly, I highly doubt i'll ever bee in Philadelphia to try one.

Yes, a flight from Philadelphia to Hawaii would be very expensive...so I guess I don't blame you for not putting Philadelphia on your dream vacation list. BUT, if for some magical coincidence you have an opportunity to come out here, then getting a legitimate Philadelphia cheesesteak should be one of your top priorities.

the best Philly cheesesteak in Philly that I've tasted is in the hood. I've been to Geno's, Pat's Tony Luke's, all the joints in South Philly, but I don't know, there ain't nothing like Lucky's steaks on Kensington and Lehigh Ave, plus they're about three dollars cheaper... :D

put it on your bucket list! haha. My boyfriend and his roommate make cheesesteak paninis on their george foreman grill. They says that they're delicious, but i still have yet to try one (grrr). My dad used to be a short order cook and he'll occasionally make cheesesteaks for us at home, and they're quite delicious also.
