I do. The food I eat in Winter is very different that the food I prepare in Spring or Summer. As the Earth starts to heat me, I tend to eat a lot more veggies, salads and fruit. Even the carbohidrates I eat are changed into salads many times. I love a good potato salad as a Spring or Summer side dish, but I prefer a caserole or steamong potatoes, rice or pasta in cold weather.
I was checking some recipes today and came across a wonderful main dish of cold pasta with olives, artichoke and feta cheese. I always forget how good cold pasta tastes so I don´t do it often.
We are entering Autumn in my country but days are still wonderfully sunny. So I´ll make this dish before I start on legumes, caseroles and Hearty soups.
Do you change the way you eat during the year? What are the most seeked for foods in winter and Summer? Share.
Take care!

Good morning Marg, I am looking very forward to the farmer's market to open up w/all their good fresh veggies but it will be quiote awhile yet, darn it.I to like soups, stews, chili & things like that in the winter. I do make soup in the summer from fresh veggies, i love soup anytime. I love tomatoes & eat alot of them in the summer.I buy them the year around but there's nothing like one right out of the garden. I love salads to. I always eat lighter in the summer. Have a great weekend. hugs.

I hope your farmer´s market opens soon, Jo. Veggies are a good way to slim down a little and you can do it while eating things you like.
By the way, if you make a potato salad with potatoes, olive oil, parsley and/or diced dill pickles (and NO mayo) it won´t hurt you so much as diet goes. Potatoes are´t bad; mayo is.

iT will be quite awhile before it opens but i'll be glad to. I love veggies. Of course the bad thing is the seasoning i like in them. I use fried meat grease in green beans, not good. thanks for the tip on the olive oil. I know it is alot better for U. i HAVE SORT OF STEERED CLEAR ON IT BECAUSE IT IS SO MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE BUT I'LL GET ME SOME. tHE LAST 2 WEEKS I HAVE SPENT ALOT OF MONEY ON FOOD THAT IS BETTER FOR ME. I have definitely got to change my way of eating. hugs.

Yeah I do change my eating habits during the year besides so you won't get sick of eating same kind all the time. If winter, I prefer hot soups and shakes and baked. On summer, all fresh veggies and fresh watery fruits, fish, shakes, grill, steam..wheeww it's really good during summer, everything is fresh..I usually grill fish, boiled rice, sweet potato and sweet corn..all this from our garden except the rice. my husband goes for fishing and put all of them in our waterfall, so if we need it's just there in our backyard fresh. If we grill fish, we put finely chopped onions, tomatoes and soy sauce inside fish body then wrapped it in a foil paper then grill until done occasionally you turn to other side..then pooff..smells good. I seldom eat meat during summer but I do eat most of them on winter. eat it with fresh boiled rice, corn and sweet potato and after it sliced cold watermelon..huuuuhh..! it feels me up..

Thanks for sharing. Your answer made my mouth water. And all from your own garden! It sounds like paradise to me. Congratulations for a dream life.

I tend to eat a little differently in the summer. I'll eat more cold salads and I tend to eat more fresh vegetables and fruits because I'm not too fond of hot weather and eating very hot foods. It's just rather uncomfortable.

Hi marguicha,In India especially in the south where I live the seasons are not markedly different. The temperature varies just about 10 degrees through the year.So we dont change our food habits that much except during summer months.Summer is very hot and one is not able to eat very spicy food.We make a lot of curries with yogurt and take more salads and cooler stuff ...We eat more heavy food during rains and winter months...But the one thing that never changes come winter or summer is Fish which is eaten all through the year....have a great weekend

My country has only two seasons, so I don't feel like changing my food lifestyle. Up until now, I don't really care about taking a diet program. But at least I give attention when my body needs different foods.
My carbs source is rice and there is no substitution to it.

The only time I change my eating habit is when my family thinks I'm getting fat then they all would put me in a diet. It is ok because I cannot inhale/exhale well when overweight

Yes. In summer I use more cold things like yoghurt, cucumber, watermelon and salads. Otherwise the cooking items are same as we make varieties in dishes and each one will get it's own turn.

The fruits and vegetables change, but everything else? Not so much.
What I wait for the most and miss when they're gone are cherries. I love cherries!

It's spring here in the USA. My eating habits do change. In the summer I crave watermelon and canteloupe, ice cream, icy pops and nice cold ice tea, Hamburgers and Hotdogs. In the winter it's soups and stews, snow cream and delicious Christmas dinners! In the fall, though you didn't ask I like Pumpkin Pies!

i actually never noticed that with me. just as i like to eat ice cream on cold seasons, or drinking hot coffee even in the mid-summer. even in our place, some foods being served on hot seasons could be available all year round and same with cold seasons. there is nothing that changed my appetite or eating habit.

I do change my eating habits with the seasons. In the cold weather, I love soups, stews, and all kinds of concoctions that you can cook in a slow cooker or bake in the oven. I do eat salads, too, but not as often. In the warm weather, I crave salads, fruits, and things like that. Heavy meals, which are a staple in the warm weather, are not as appealing to me in the summer. That does not mean that I eat less in the summer. I am actually more active, so I eat more, but I do it all day long rather than just at meal times.
My preference in beverages changes, too. I love coffee, hot tea, and warm drinks in the cold weather, although I will drink juice and sometimes Kool-aide. In the warm weather, I prefer chocolate milk over coffee, iced tea, and Lemon-aide or Lime-aide (made from real lemons and limes, of course). I also find that I crave just plain water with ice in it quite often during the warm weather, but the only time that I want that during the cold weather is when I am working out (exercising).

As far as I am concerned, I think I usually change a very little about my eating habbit according the season changes. For me, I usually have the noodles for my lanuch and rice for my supper. I think it is a very good way get me full. If I do not eat like this way, I will usually feel very hungry.

I don't do it as much. I will say that I don't like eating hot soup when I'm too warm, or that I'm more inclined to eat fresh, crisp, or juicy things like cucumbers or grapes when I'm warm, but that has more to do with temperature than season--a warm winter with broken ventilation will have me buying fruit at the store!
But really, soup and cucumbers are about the only things I can think of that I change tastes for at all....
