Before I didn't really care about Ipod. I didn't even know about it. I still think it's an expensive brand, but hey, I read something interesting today.
Now, depending on if you're within a WiFi hotspot, you can use your Ipod touch as a phone! How? Using Line2 of Toktumi, an app originally for Iphones. I just read that you can use the ipod as a phone and sidestep AT&T. Of course, I believe this is only available in the US. I have not heard it being available in other countries.
Anyway, Line 2 has more benefits for Iphone users. Apparently, again if the user is within a Wi-Fi hotspot, the user can make unlimited calls...without paying! Why? Coz within the area, Line 2 uses Wi-Fi to connect the calls. Line 2's service isn't totally free. It comes at a monthly package of $15 a month.
What do you think of this development? Have you heard of this new chewy piece of news?

I think the ipod touch through wifi internet access in this way is not good, or at least should be able to connect the network cable so that it can, and not all places have wifi, so when touch out of the network is an ordinary mp4 the.

You're right. But I think, this feature is very beneficial for those people who are always in a wi-fi hotspot area. Like myself for example. I have wifi at home and there is also wi-fi at my workplace.
But besides the limitation, don't you think it's cool that an mp4 player can morph into a phone? Hehehe.

Hi anthony23, yes, I also agree that it would only work if there is a WiFi hotspot near. I guess it is only beneficial for those who are always near a WiFi hotspot. But for us who aren't, well, a regular phone is still the best. But won't you agree that it's kinda cool? hehe.

I never knew that it is possible to use the ipod touch as a phone. I would never use it that way though as I have a nice phone, and I would just rather use the ipod touch to play games on as the way it was made for. I have heard though that the newer one coming out will be really expensive as it will have a mic and a camera, which is just like the iphone except for not being able to call. I don't think it is worth the $400 they will be charging for it. I only have the 8gb ipod touch, and that is all I need. Take care, and have a good day or evening.
