when i come home from work, my dog would like welcome me standing on two feet and would start licking my clothes, shoes and everything. Even when im on the couch and he is too, he loves to lick. This is actually my very first pet dog, and i was wondering if all dogs are like that. Kinda sweet but sometimes not, especially when i just took a bath. Lol. And is there anything wrong with that? I mean, can we get some sort of dangerous bacteria from their saliva? What can you advice mylotters?

hi! well i don't think it is a habit, maybe it is something like showing its feeling to its owner which I think it is the best reason because as we all know cats and dogs are very tied to their owners and love to show it to them!

Aviambitous is right. my dog also does it, and some weird stuff too like chasing my shadow. lol. it s a sign of love and respect for its master. although i hate it too when it licks me after taking a bath, and when it drools on my bed. lol.

All dogs do that. Even my dog does it. Dogs express their love through licking. There is nothing wrong with your dog. There are dangerous bacterias in their saliva, you should consult your dog to a veterinary doctor. There are various vaccines that should be given to dogs. Dangerous diseases such as rabies spread through dogs.

Maybe because he is just happy to see you and he loves you. My dog seldom licks me, she only does that to my father when he arrives from home.lol. I don't know if they have dangerous bacteria in their saliva, but they usually lick themselves clean, maybe you can toothbrush him or her first before you let him/her lick you.lol.
