For 3 consecutive days, our internet is down.Just it happened without warning or any notice at all.I called our service provider's technical support for assistance & they don't have any idea what's going on,our bill is up to date,i have done troubleshooting as well, called technical support many times,i told them to check their system as their might be some problems with the main line only to be told that everything is okay & finally decided they will send a technician tomorrow morning to fix my connection,i waited the whole morning & finally got a call from the technician telling me he's on his way & with much luck,no one came, called technical support again & alas they told me the problem is the main line & to wait another 24 hours for it to get fixed,i have told them since they know i have reported it earlier they should have the decency of calling & informing me,but anyways, out internet is back,no one came,& since i am a decent person,i called my service provider, inform them my internet is back & all i got is a thank you from the agent with no apologies at all.My friend told me i should ask for a credit adjustment..If you're in that situation, what you could have done?

well i think if the service is paid on a monthly basis, they will not have anything recomputed for you for the 3 days that you were not able to use the service. its post or pre paid and if it was not in the contract, you might as well just let it go. sometimes these internet provider's technical support only does trouble shooting, etc. if this happens again, i would suggest for you to call them, and not hang up the phone until you get a concrete answer as to when they can put back the service. this we already have done with out ISP. i did not hang up and even asked for a supervisor who can explain to me the issues, it would have been better for them to manage their client's expectations. and since we are paying, we should demand for the service we want.

I think it's weird if your internet service provider can't solving that problem with quickly. It's about money and many people will lose their money if they can use the internet, and it was been 3 days. It seems like you all need to asking for compensation from your ISP. I think your ISP is just a new or not a professional ISP since it can't solving such problem faster. This is just a matter of techincal knowledge which your ISP admin perhaps don't have it. I think if the problem is serious, your ISP should give prior notice to all the customers if the internet connection was in trouble and will be hard to access in 3 days. I agree with your friend about asking the credit adjustment. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

i think here at your end nothing can be done merely by troubleshooting.if there is hardware related problem at server side then the provider company only can tackle this. and i think for this if you are not able to get the support you could just change your services.

That happened to me the other day. Spent almost an hour with troubleshooter and nothing worked. I was so angry at the time. No earnings that day and the day after with my online businesses. Good thing everything is fixed now.
