Once step...then the next...and the next...then higher and higher and higher...
wow !!! More and more and more... is this what is 'success'?
Those with plenty of money, wealth and everything in plentyful, can they claim to have realy achieved success in life?
Are those with oceans of knowledge like Rabindranth Tagore,Shakespear,Bernerd shaw,Isace Newton or Galileo, etc. etc. can be termed as persons with immense success in life?
What about the women, who is a simple housewife that cooks, cleans, looks after the need of her husband, brings up the children, takes care of the ailing parents and yet always wears a smile and faces and finds solutions to most of the oddest problems of life with their bleak knowledge and understanding? Have they achieved success in life?
And the ordinary man that toils day and night relentlessly, in order to bring a smile for those hopeful eyes that make up the family. They are happy with the little they have, for the end of the day is always filled with a desire to see a new morning, may be a little better than the previous one, then has he achieved success in life???
Oh! I am really confused. What should I term as 'success'? How can I define 'success'?

Success is having the self-actualization. It is having achieved your dream or maybe not your dreams but felt right about it. Some people have actually seen by others as successful but they actually don't think that they are successful. Being successful is really doing the things that you love, have passion about it, and being able to smile and be happy about what you had got :)

Success has one term for everybody but the only thing is that different people have their own things to succeed. As you said, rich people have everything like money and stuff, maybe that's their success. And the others whose names who haves mentioned like Rabindranath Tagore, Shakespear, etc have achieved alot of fame with the knowledge they had, maybe their aim was to gain alot of knowledge. So, that was their success. The other normal persons who are not famous, their aims are different to get success in. A mother's aim is to take care of her family, and then it is all upon her that does she succeed in it or not. Maybe a child's aim is to succeed in his/her studies and make his/her parents proud. Or maybe he/she can have another reason. So, although people have different things to get success in but the term of success doesn't change. Success means the things we want to achieve or want achievement in. Happy mylotting!

I think none can define success in such concrete terms. Success is only a matter of individual perception differing from person to person. It is very subjective. For example a thief who steals surely considers himself successful. The policeman who catches him also considers himself successful: though both are actng in opposite directions and with conflicting purposes. Earning money is considered successful, yet most famous people , like Tagore Galileo or Gandhi dont rank among the richest people on earth.Perhaps success means satisfaction in doing one's one calling to one's liking or choice.Living according to one's own commitment. Without compromising on ones real values and principles. Contentment in itself may not be defined as success, but it is, I think , a prime ingradient in the juice of life called success!

Success it is self relative term nad having diffrent meaning for time to time, place and person to person.supoose there is hotel worker and he got lottory prize for just one million dollor he will say he is lucky ..if ordinary dstudent get passed in exam he will say it is his success...so there are no fixed parameters to measure the quality and quantity of success

Success? when your happy as a result of what you did then i feel that your successful. Like if your taking an examination and you studied hard and in return your happy because you passed with flying colors. You being happy is a sign that your successful. And that for me my friend is success ;)

success is when you start to understand your self-worth. it is not something that could be measured but it is how one perceive his/her achievements in life. it should not be measured by how much money you make or how high your position is but how far along you have improved since you started out...

i think every body could see the success in a different way.
i think a person can see another person as a successful person if he is better than the first one.
and that principle is applied at many places. i think if a person think that what ever he has is enough for him and he is happy with the resources he has. i think he is successful.

success is when your striving for something ends. it could be as simple as paying the last installment of your debt or as complicated as getting the top position of the company you re working under. success can also be considered a person or a thing like your son or daughter or a lawn mower, etc.. it can be an event, like saying: this meeting is a success.

Success is getting what you want in life and being happy and content about it - what you have, the work that you do without any complaints and grudges with someone. It's about feeling content in a way that you feel so at ease with what you are having and doing in your life right now.
I would say, as young as 26, last year, I achieved success already. In a way that by working at home,I made it prosper even by doing it on my own, and started it with just one desktop computer which wasn't literally mine. Now, I have my own desktop pc and laptop at the same time and I've always been enjoying working at home too.
