I am not sure what animals sence and perceive. I am reminded of an article I read long ago in readers digest. It was about a women who was suffering from seizures from time to time. The family got a dog and she noticed that every time she was to have a seizure the dog would pounce upon her violently. Eventually the dog was trained to give her a more subtle reaction when she was to have a seizure. This way she knew a few minuites before the attack that she was to have one and was able to go to a safe place. So dogs and other animals do sence things which we do not. In this case probably the increased electric activity in the person.
I reminded here of another ability bees have, the ability to see ultraviolet rays.
What we call 'aura' could be an ability that we do not possess.

We will never know exactly if its for real or not, but hey i believe that animals are more sensitive when it comes to their senses. I even hear this news before that birds do know when an earthquake is coming. That just explains why animal senses are like ten folds stronger than that of humans ;)

Apparently there are senses animals have and we don't... that is known and can be verified. But dogs perceiving aura? I mean, we know they smell and hear better, and sometimes they bite and bark at "bad" people. That's what we think, at least...
If human had an aura (I don't know what that is) and if it was accurate (if people could express something by other means than words, facial expressions, behavior, attitudes...) the question is: could dogs, and animals in general, make a difference between right and wrong, good and evil? I mean they can understand that something is wrong when they're hungry or when there's a loud noise they feel threatened. And they can "feel good" when people play with them and caress them... but that's about it.
My point is that if they could see something in human that we don't, they couldn't possibly judge if it's right or wrong, simply because they don't have the what it takes to do it. I don't want to offend the pet lovers, but when I say what it takes", I am talking about the ability to filter what you see or think through a moral filter in the conscience.

Jobmoone, I doubt that any of us can know what animals perceive. We can train ourselves to see people's auras, and the auras of animals and even inanimate objects. There's no reason to believe animals can't see them. They're simply the energy fields that surround all things...

I am not too sure whether animals can see auras or not, but I do know that some humans with special psychic abilities (clairvoyant) can feel or see the aura. Many other people can also partially see the ethereal field (aura), without realising it themselves. When we speak about "aura" we are talking about the "higher dmensional human bodies - termed as the "astral/emotional body", "mental body" and "spiritual body" Therefore the aura reflects the emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of our personality. We can also influence our aura through continuous, conscious change of our behaviour.
The Kirlian photography developed by the Russians could reveal the aura of almost all living things/organisms. Now there are lots of aura imaging devices that can show human auras in greater details - the different colours which represent the different emotional, mental or spiritual states of a person.
I do know know that animals can sense the state of our emotions - whether we are fearful, aggressive, etc. and react accordingly. If they sense that they are in danger they will either "fight" or "flee".
I shall not delve too much into more details here as that is the little I know about "aura" which I can share.

I don't know about animals seeing the aura. I think we shall never know. However, animals, especially dogs, are much more sensitive to our facial expressions and body language than we are and they can also detect changes in the smell of our bodies that we know nothing of. Since dogs don't have particularly good eyesight and less colour vision than we do (they are not colour blind but cannot distinguish shades of colour as we do), I think that their perception of our emotions is much more likely to be due to their highly developed senses of hearing and smell as well as their observation of body language and especially facial expression.
