two words that best describe you? that was the question posed in one of the sessions in a workshop i attended. when it was my turn, i stood up and said "shy, homely" to much laughter from all my colleagues. they didn't believe because what they had perceived in me was totally the opposite. i was dumbfounded. i believe it's me who knows me better:)
my dear myLotters, have you had such an experience? what two words best describe you?

Hello, Tomitomi. I'd say the two words that best describe me are 'pocket dynamite.' I'm very outgoing, and I can be a bit turbo-charged. I'm only just over 5 foot tall, and when I used to complain about being short, my mother used to say, 'The best things come in small packeages,' to which Dad would reply, 'Yes, like dynamite!' so I've been called 'Miss Dynamite' by my family for years. I suppose I try to live up to it!

"perfectionist" and "patient" are the two words best describes me. I always want to achieve perfection in my life so I'm quite driven towards excellence and will do everything to the best of my abilities. I'm also a patient person who don't mind spending a lot of efforts in achieving something worthy.

Over the past three years where my life has been shadowed by my mothers' illness, I decided not to take things seriously. This December, I almost landed myself a job, but quit because of personal reasons, but during our getting-to-know-you exercise, we were asked the same question. I answered that I was adventurous and sad. Adventurous in a way that I want to go somewhere I have never been to, and sad at the same time because I know that I can't leave my ill mother behind.

hello anne25penn,
you should be proud that you are your mom's caretaker. and god has a way of rewarding people like you in many mysterious ways. sometimes, in ways we would never dream or think about. if i could borrow from one of the responses here, just persevere and be patient. i know it's easier said than done. so, what you have done is something very commendable, many would have failed. you are also a brave girl. just keep thinking positively and keep looking forward. may your mom be cured. may your dreams come true. blessings for all of you. thank you so much for sharing. have a nice day :)

Yes, we all tend to see ourselves different from what other people see us. As a therapist I have worked with clients for years showing them how to get to know themselves better. Where a person may lack confidence, he/she may over-compensate by acting confident. We all feel we could be better than we appear, and when asked to describe ourselves we will play a lot down.
Two words that I would describe myself would be "inquisitive" and "searching". As a therapist, I am always inquisitive as to what makes my mind work the way it does, and as a Zen practitioner I am searching for the meaning of life. _Derek

Wow, that must be a learning situation for you. People perceive us differently, I guess. I am simple and sincere. but my neighbors and friends think I am strong and aggressive. Whatever! It is the goodness in your heart that matters. Live on!

My friends would describe me as funny and smart? LOL. I'm skeptical about being smart, though.
My family would describe me lazy and brat. It's true.LOL.
Other people would describe me snob and serious-minded.
So, where would I stand? If I were to describe myself, I would say I'm unpredictable and fickle-minded.

Well its true the way people look at and predict our character than what we believe we are.. I would say am so "independent, sensitive", but people find me the other way. Though i try to explain them, but thats the way they looked and got mindset about me. And similarly, i do with others. So this is a common truth, people are not always the way what we judge about them.

the two words that best describes me is "shy and silent". We have the same experience. I don't think of myself the way other people think of me. Some people say I'm like "crazy" and not like the way I think I am.

For me, the two words that best describe me would be perseverance and patience. I might not appear too patient, but that I actually am..come to think of experiences that I've been through. But it doesn't necessarily have to be what others think of me though, hee. Good topic here..

tomitomi-
only you can truthfully describe yourself so if you consider yourself
"shy and homely" - you have your good reasons, don't mind what others say.
"restless seeker" would best describe me;-)

hello polepole.
i'm sure you do too, aren't you? and i do respect you being a "restless seeker" because that's what you are. as long as we are in control of ourselves, that matters.
thank you so much for sharing. it's been great. have an equally great day :)

Well i have to go with funny and trustworthy, first im the kind of person that you will never be bored when im around. Just make sure that both of us get along well, because if your an enemy of mine i doubt it if we will get along indeed lol . Second im trustworthy because anything you tell me remains a secret for the both of us unless you want me to tell everyboddy else bout what we talked bout ;)
