purpose in life

God has created Man in his own image.Man is a part of God since He resides in the innermost part of his heart.God has created this world and placed Man in it and given him the freedom to do what he likes.Man has 2 choices to do good and go towards Him or to do bad and go away from Him.Man has got entangled in the temptations offerred in this world and as his attachments have grown so have his sufferrings.the wise man or the saint has seen through this ploy and realised that by developing attachment he is only deepening his misery and going on an endless journey of births and deaths. So what he does is first of all to get rid of his desires one by one and then give up all attachments. He then turns his mind entirely on god by prayer, meditation etc. This can be done by having a strong will power and a steely determination. this is very difficult for normal people but not impossible.after many births Man comes to a point when he develops a distaste for all material things and becomes god-centered. Then his only Goal in life is to achieve Realisation of theSelf, ie the Higher Self ,not his ordinaty self.This is the True Goal of Life and everyone should work towards it to the best of his ability and capability and his limitations.

hi, I think each one of us has a purpose why we are living on earth. If you were asking about mine, I think my purpose is to be with my loveones. I should be the one to protect them. Further, I believe that one reason of my existence is to be a part of my future students life, since I will be coming a teacher in future.

This is a very hard question for all of us to answer, no matter what walk of life you come from. In fact, I have asked myself this questions many of times. I have even asked God why he put me here and for what purpose.......Then one day it just hit me.... Terry, Look at what all you do do, what all you have been through, look at all the people that you can help with the experience that you have with "life issues". I often asked God why I could never have children....it cam to me, you have many children, many people look up to you, people that you have helped over the years, do they not call you Mom? Hummmm, my answer. If I had had children of my own, I would have been too busy to help others out, and help them out with their children. I often asked God, now, why did you put me here if all I was going to go through is what all I have......then it came to me.....you have been able to help others deal with what they are going through have you not? So that is when it hit me....just what it is my purpose of being on this earth is. My advise is......"Just ask God" Good luck
