I wish to get my home looking really lovely on a budget. I have began painting my bedroom. I have bought some new curtains for it. I have ordered a new bed set for it. I am so very much looking forward to completing all the changes. Have you ever done a budget make over in a room in your home? If so how did you get on? If not is there a room in your house you wish you could improve?

I will be painting the bathrooms after I finish school next week. After that I am hoping to afford to buy new curtains for the living room, the bedrooms and the front door. We have blinds and I hate them. My cats keep on playing the strings and pull them down. I am looking for ways to fix my house on a budget.

I will be moving to my new town house soon. And before I move in I wish to have the interior decorated well, simple but cozy. I don't want to do any touch up every now and then so I make sure that it will last long. I am under tight budget so I need to call for many quotations to find the one that suit my budget.

Hi Maxim, I just can't afford alot but I love my home. I have to tell you that a little bit of paint can do an awful lot to improve things. All my furniture is 2nd hand. I had this old coffee table that my aunt gave me. it was sturdy and all but it had been around since we were kids and had seen prettier days. I painted it black and then took gold metallic sponge paint and sponged it over the top of it. Then Polyutherened it. It took me an afternoon to do the entire thing. It is unique and looks really cool. I had a metal computer desk given to me that was really worn. I painted it black. I have all white walls in my kitchen and I bought a set of burgundy window curtains on sale for under ten dollars. I then did my kitchen table top in burgandy and black. When I have a little extra cash, I am always looking in the 2nd hand stores. There are a lot of good finds there. I just got a great love seat for 39.00 at a 2nd hand shop.

Hi maxi! I am in the process right now of doing some home makeovers! I am working on the livingroom and a bit on the bedroom right now! I just bought some very much needed new livingroom lamps and can't wait until they come into the store where I bought them! The should be in this week! I have just about forgotten what they look like it's been so long! I bought them 6 weeks ago and am just waiting for them to be delivered to the store so I can pick them up and they better be in perfect condition after all this waiting! I also bought a small black cavinet to go with the lamps and some other decorative pieces to bring some more black into my livingroom which has mostly brown furniture! The lamps are a black and white faux marble and look like an art sculpture! They are very different looking! I am doing a little bit of stuff in the bedroom, but just got a new Summer quilt set so far!

No, I never have done a budget makeover of any room in my house. I do need to have some caulking done around my bathtub and I'm hoping to get that done sometime this year. Because of my finances, it's been hard for me to ever get it done. I bet your bedroom is going to be beautiful when you get it finished. What color is it? Please post some pictures when you get it finished. Kathy.

Hi friend, The only way I can improve my house is the thrifty way. The last room I made over was my bedroom. I paited it with a brighter colour (yellow mustard) and put a nice bedspread and pillows on the bed. Now I would like to pain my living and dining room and buy curtains for it but it will have to wait until I´m better with my shoulder. I usually invite my friends and family and make a good meal for them. They help me paint and I can finish the big room in a day.

We just resently moved into a new home we purchased. The rooms are nice but i would love to redo some to make them more personal. The first area i think we will work on is the kitchen. I just dont know where to start because kitchens tend to be one of the most expensive rooms in the house to redo. The cubbords are painted and in a couple spots the paint is chipping. So maybe i will start with giving them a fresh coat of paint. I will also be googling for ways to add extra storage the kitchen isnt huge so i need some really creative ways to use storage for pots and pans. In the past when ive redone a room ive used mostly paint, wall paper borders, building small wooden cubes for storage and shopping secondhand stores to be able to buy things on a budget. Your room sounds like it will be very nice when you get it just the way you like it.

I built my home in 2005. I subcontracted some of the work and my brother-in-law helped me with the rest. We did all the painting, trimwork, tiling...and cleaning. My house is still new enough to me that there's nothing I want to change, yet. Truth is, I don't look forward to painting it again, etc.
