The problem is that- 1-When I use my right shift key the comp refreshes. So suppose if I have to type curve brackets, then I will have to type shift+ 9 or 0 right! But if I do that no sooner I press the right shift key the browser refreshes and I loose whatever I typed before. 2-If I use my left shift key the comp shuts down. And I loose everything. 3-Some times when I use the ctrl keys to select multiple objects then it copies and pastes those objects in the same folder. So now I have duplicate objects in the folder,Then I have the tedious job of deleting those 2nd duplicate objects. I am really sick of this now...... Does someone know how to solve this problem, pls help me............

the reason is you have a program that inverse the job of the keyboard or a virus that control over your keyboard , to fix this you have to try using another keyboard if you get the same problem then you have to set up a Fresh copy of your Operation system .

I use AVG 9.0 anti-virus.When I did the full system scan day before yesterday it detected some viruses and it also removed those many viruses. But the keyboard problem still persists.

Another keyboard fixes the problem but why throw away the current one when it works fine on other comp?

Maybe because your PS/2 port is damaged. In this case some keyboards will work and some others not.

I tried to update the driver, but it says that the current version is the best it can find from the windows update.

I followed the exact instructions! The device status clearly says-the device is working properly. The troubleshoot asks me first whether the keyboard is usb or not. Then it tells me to try updating the driver..... Even if say suppose there is a driver problem then why my neighbour's keyboard doesn't show this problem.

i would say you either have a virus or your keyboard's messed up. i would borrow somebody's and see what it does before anything else. if it's a laptop, you can bypass the old one with a USB keyboard.

Sounds like you have a virus installed. Try kapersky anti-virus.. AVG is good but can't scan most viruses. Or maybe your keyboard is the one defective, you could try and change your keyboard to a new one.

If virus is the problem then why my neighbours keyboard works without any error?

how long have you had the keyboard?? keyboards do not usually have a long lifespan (i think) maybe your keyboard is damaged or whatever... you might need a new one... another possibility is that your computer might be infected by viruses or something like that ... you said earlier that you had your computer scanned thru anti-virus ... i tell you ... some viral effects that have taken place before you've actually did the system scan are UNREPAIRABLE by any chance ... if replacing the keyboard doesn't solve the problem then maybe you might need to format your computer ... make sure to back your files up ... ...

The problem is not with the keyboard I believe, because when I connected the keyboard to my neighbours comp it worked fine,no shift key shutdown, etc. But I expected the problem to persist when I connected my neighbour's keyboard to my comp, but surprised to see that it worked fine. Now the whole problem reduces to one thing 'why only my keyboard connected to my comp is giving me this problem'

i agree with others about the keyboard. maybe someone spilled water on your keyboard or maybe the keyboard is just broken. i would try these: 1 - try using the keyboard on other pc. if it works fine, then try no.2 2 - scan for virus and reinstall the keyboard's driver. make sure to have the correct driver 3 - if the keyboard does not work, maybe it's time to get a new one. or try a friend's keyboard on the pc.. just to be sure. good luck!

Firstly change to a USB Keyboard , i had some cases where the old PS/2 mouse giving problems like typing A but came out S or D problem . If the problem persist Reformat your computer .If after that the problem Still there , there might be a slight chance that your motherboard PS/2 port is short circuit with something that cause the problem but if you are using USB there should not be such problem , if have just change to another port!

The problem that causes it was either a defective keyboard or your computer was infected by virus. First, try to use another keyboard. It should works normal. If the problem still occurs, do a system restore and scan your pc with anti-virus. Have a nice day! Happy myLotting!

You don't say what type of computer you are using. I hope for you that it's not a laptop, because laptops repairs are expensive. It's probably due to a short-circuit in a ribbon cable : change your keyboard, you can't repair this.

I don't know how to solve this problem. You can search for an answer in Internet. I can say the sure thing that would make it right is to reinstall your windows (if you are on windows). You didn't mention what operation system are you with. I think you should be able to solve your porblem if you ask in the Microsoft forums or somewhere related to this. Have a nice MyLotting
