we aim for a free world for that reason we advocate a democratic kind of leadership. but are we truly free? why we end up in a situation that would test that idealism. such example is when a person has an origin such as orphanage or when our school is not a prestigious one. we tend to pull down those people who are from those class. why is it so? can we call our world free?

I never believe that we are free.. We are controlled by some strings that attached to our body and mind which makes us a puppet, following what others wants us to..

when you feel free, then you are free. even if you are alone and no one to care after you, to worry after you, and to know your whereaboutts but you feel contained in a place, then you are not truly free. I agree that freedom depends on each one of us. whenever we feel we are being held back, the more we are bound to be tied to our current state.

There is nothing 100% free. Democracy is needed, but without goo law enforcement, democracy will be nothing.Freedom here is not only freedom to express our ideas, opinion and exploit our talent.we have to create a better world, that is free from poverty, hunger, corruption and oppression.

Here in the United States, slavery has not been abolished...it has just changed forms. While we do not have African American slaves laboring on cotton plantations or in some other vocation anymore, slavery is still alive and well in our country. In fact, we are all slaves. We are slaves to our government, and to a dollar that is losing its value more and more each day. Our government steals from us in the form of taxes, and what little money we have left after the government takes what it (for some reason) thinks it is entitled to does not go very far. Ironically, we went to war with England during the American Revolution, because we were tired of being taxed so heavily by the British. Now, we are run by crooked politicians who take our hard-earned money in the form of taxes, and use the money to fill their own pockets. Maybe it is time for another revolution in our country?????????

We have freedom of speech here in the USA, but as for whether we're truly free from the ridicule of others? no we're not. We judge too much, and I'll admit I judge and say I try not to but I judge without thinking. It's not good to do that. Neither is it right for us to make assumptions about someone because of their background.

Regardless of rules, laws, and what people think or do, aren't you free to choose???? Sure there are consequences for every choice. That is part of the learning system of the world. It's what you choose to do that counts!!

hello ushen143rolex. it's human greed that has corrupted the notion of a free world. the constant bickering between the 'haves' and the 'have-nots'. it takes people like you to educate us all. thanks for the topic.

We are free but not completely free. We are free to choose what to do, but we should always abide in the law. We are to do things, but our freedom is limited in ourselves and not taking away freedom of others. We are free and freedom has a price. :)

Well, I would say that freedom is a hard thing to earn, especially nowadays because as nowadays government and politics do guarantee you certain things, that freedom is not without a great cost. People are imperfect and so is democracy, the governments and everything else. I guess we should try to do the best we can with what we have and fight our way through...

For me being free depends on yourself, we might be free as a country but your not free as an individual. Im not talking bout your freedom to go out and do anything you want, the freedom from worries and all the problems that is keeping you at bay. For someone to be really free we need to feel it from deep inside of us,and it should reflect in everything we do too.
