Hi everyone, I think that I am quite weak at running but I need to participate in a running competition. So, How can I run faster in order to not be the last one in the race. Can anyone suggest methods to improve the stamina, vital capacity, etc ?

I used to run very slow but now im much faster.I need to be fast because i play football and futsal. What i did was, running from a static position and burst full speed for 10 seconds.Try standing and ready to sprint.Do it many times. It will improve your accelaration.

Do some speedwork on the track with a watch. Try running certain distances (say 1 mile, or even .25 miles) and timing those distances. Write down your times and the date. Run as you normally do (slowly is fine) for the rest of the week. Next week go back to the track and try the same distances again and see if there is any improvement. It may take awhile to see improvement, but the more you use your speed the more you'll develop it. However, if you do too much speedwork you'll end up injured. Some people can do more than one day a week, but I tend to stick with one.

Once i heard a trainor telling his trainee that he needs t practice alot in order to be better, stronger and be faster. We all know that practice makes perfect or maybe not that perfect but close to perfection. If you practice alot im pretty sure your stamina agility and most of your stats will be gaining and you will be stronger before you even know it. Patience and perseverance is also needed and if you really want to succeed then you need to have a motivation to keep you going all the time ;)
