Our church, the Iglesia ni Cristo joined the world in its observance of the Earth Day. Last night we swithed out our lights even an hour earlier and then we went to Trinoma mall so that we could let the time flies while shopping

Here in Pagadian CIty, what happened was more than participating in Earth Hour. We had a brownout that lasted for 4 hours (7pm - 11pm). It's always been the case since the El NiƱo started. I also participated last year and it seemed that I was the only one who turned off lights and unplugged my appliances in the entire neighborhood. I did not know is they were aware of Earth Hour or if they just chose not to participate. I hope that every one will start caring and storing our Mother Nature before it's too late.

That's not so good of the malls not to join the earth hour. Anyways, business is good when others switched off their lights.
I knew about the earth hour but forgot the day but it was a coincidence that night that an hour before we went to the boulevard for a walk. We switched off everything before going. Then when we're about to go back home the lights in the boulevard was off except for the lights in the establishments and homes. Then we remembered it was earth hour. And the moon was bright that night.

We also joined Earth Hour by switching off not only the lights. My father wants the TV to be off for one hour. We just stay outside the house where we chat with our childhood friends until its time to switch on the light.

well, we did not actually switch off all the light, we had one dim light left open, its the one in the living room. I dont believe so much in this sort of campaign, although it is undeniably worthy to participate, i still believe we should continue to conserve energy as we do in our home regardless of any campaign. Congratulations to all those who participated.

WE also joined in with it although we just turned off the lights as required because it was still hot we left our electric fans on but we strictly turned off our lights. We observed that our neighborhood somehow either forgot or did not bother joining the campaign.
I think in small ways we can help the environment recoup a little by doing this. I just hope they can make this movement more frequently in the near future to help our mother earth as well.

To be honest I have not switched our lights off on that particular hour. But since we always had five to six hours black out everyday I think and feel that i already participated somehow. But to those who have lights and did not turn it off I can't blame you at all. You might have your own reason why you did not do it.
Anyways if another earth hour will come I am definitely sure I will be participating then. I think it would be nice if all the population in this world will participate because it's about saving mother earth.
