I've become so mushy!

I used to be a strong woman. Strong in the sense that I don't show emotion that well when I was younger. It's not because I try to stop the tears, but I just can't find anything emotional about anything. I was really awaken about the thought of me perhaps being abnormal emotionally, when my favorite Aunt died. She was 28 that time and it was a real shocker to all of us. Everyone wept, but I didn't shed a single tear. Moving ahead, now that I'm older, the mere loving word or loving touch, or looking at an old couple holding hands can make me cry! I can only count the times when I didn't cry in movies - Oh my gosh, I even cried in Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty both of which were comedies! What's wrong with me???

Nothing's wrong at all, Laydee! Covering up our feelings isn't strength. It's unnecessary embarrassment about being fully human. Our emotions are part of our lives, and as real as anything else.

Hehehe.. I'm not seeing it as a strength (covering up emotion), I'm just really wondering why I'm a cry baby so much these days as compared to when I was younger. I was a tough cookie really and it did bother me because I thought there's somethng wrong with me (that I don't cry) but now it has made me wonder why I'm the exact opposite - I cry to almost everything that I find sweet! hehehehe.. Do you think it's with age?

hi laydee. you are just as normal. don't worry. as we go through different phases in our lives, we change physically and emotionally. crying is good. don't you think so. it releases all the tensions and frustrations that would otherwise be kept inside and built up into something quite unhealthy.

Yeah, I think crying is good too, it just makes me laugh to think that I'm crying over something that I've watched over and over again. I mean, shouldn't I be numb because I already know what is going to happen? hehehe.. It's nuts really!

Hey, just so you know, I'm sure I shed a tear during these two movies as well, so you're not the only one, my friend! I know they're comedies, but they have touching moments - LOL! As far as emotion or lack thereof, as a woman, I always blame it on the hormones - he he! So you can do so as well if it makes you feel better! I have times when I couldn't care less what emotional things are going on. Other times, I cry about anything. I don't know what it is, but I have my moments as well. Sometimes I can show no emotion, and other times I show way too much! I guess it's another one of those crazy things in life we may never completely figure out.

I'd have to blame it on the hormones else I'd feel I'm going to be nuts! hahahaha.. It's really funny though that there are moments indeed when we're so darn tough, even the most crying-moments in our lives couldn't make us weep, yet there are also times when a simple gesture makes us feel we're overly affected! hahahaha... Thanks for sharing your thoughts, makes me think and reassured I'm not alone at this feeling.

Hi, laydee. Maybe you could be longing for someone to love and care for you mutually. And you are a very sentimental woman that is very compassionate to many things in life. You are very emotional. I see the real you coming out of your shell. I think that you arr fine you just may need to get out and enjoy life more so that you won't feel too sad.

I don't think you have a problem...It's psychological...maybe your just thinking that you will not cry(before) or your not capable of crying...and now your thinking that you have to cry just to say taht your not abnormal...

Hmm... why would people get more sentimental as they grow older? Do you think there's an explanation for that?

Well, depending on your age, it could be related to something hormonal. Maybe you are starting to go thru the change of life and menopause, and it could be something maybe with a little extra vitamins or something it could be fixed. I know it can be a rough time when anything you do or watch, etc. leaves you feeling like crying.

Yeah, I guess so. I think I've just been tough on myself and thinking a lot that perhaps there's something wrong with me.
