what do you do with your eye glasses before you go to sleep?

this is kind of an interesting one with me as I have had some bad experiences with leaving my glasses in a bad spot on the floor and having someone step on them that was when I used to live with my parents.
The other day I was in what used to be my old room and found one of my old glasses cases so I took it home with me and I have been using it ever since to put my glasses in before I go to sleep it is one of those snap shut cases and it does a nice job of staying out of the way and being easy to find, especially if I have to get up at all during the night.
What do you do with your glasses?
do you just put them up out of the way or do they go into a special case?
any stories that go with it would be great

well as long as you don't have any animals that will jump on there and disturb them that would be a fine place to keep them as long as you know where they are when you need them nothing wrong with keeping them there as long as they are in a safe place for you to find them.

I usually try to put them in their case before I go to bed but if I don't I just set them on the night stand next to my bed, that way they can't get stepped on or anything like that.

ever since I had mine stepped on, because I had them on the floor in my room and my sister came in without knocking and stepped on them.
I always try to keep them up and now I have the old case of mine that I always am in the habit of putting them in since I brought it home it is just so much easier then having to worry about where I left them as long as I keep them in the same place all the time.

i always take mine off before i go to sleep but hubby has fallen asleep with them on and has come out with his glasses all bent out of shape. our daughter also wears em and they told her at the store, that they either need to be on her face or in her case (which is not bad advice at all!)

yes that could be bad if you fall asleep with them on a very good way to get them bent of or shape as you said there.
that is good advice to have them on your face or in your case I like that line quite a bit.
It is not much fun to get the frames all bent out if shape and as long as we keep them in a safe place we need not worry about that.

hi, personally I'am not wearing any glasses.but i have seen people who use glasses usually keep them on nearby desk before going to bed.i think that's the place where their hands goes as soon as they wake up in the morning. but , sometimes the children play pranks with elders or parents.so resting place for the glassses should be somewhere far from the toddlers reach...i had a friend who used to put his glasses below the pillow.
but if i will be wearing glasses tomorrow i 'll put them on my wife's as she's been in the habbit of sleeping in the same position for the last few days...

yes it is always a good idea to keep them away from little hands as they have a way of making things disappear.
I don't think I'd want to keep mine under the pillow unless it was behind the pillow on some sort of ledge or something as my parents have sort of a shelf right behind their bed perfect for storing items like glasses.
No matter what we do we should always try to keep them in a place that we can easily find them when we need them as I always try to do.

well I must say I have not had that problem of falling asleep with them on too many times, but that is probably a good thing because with my luck I would fall asleep on my side and bend the heck out of my frames which we all know are not cheap to replace.

I put my glasses in their case on my dresser each night - thankfully I don't "need" them, so I can get up in the morning and walk over to get them... unlike some people who wouldn't be able to see without theirs. My glasses have been beat up in many different ways, but no one has stepped on them yet. :)

that's good that no one has stepped on them I wish I was as fortunate as you are since my sister stepped on mine my glasses are not in too great of shape, but it is what it is since I don't have the extra cash for new ones at this time I just have to deal with what I have.

I leave them on the counter in the bathroom. It's just a habit because I take them off when I wash my face.

nothing wrong with that as long as you know where they are, because for me I need mine just in case I need to get up in the middle of the night because of drinking too much before I went to bed or something like that I don't need to be tripping on something just cause I didn't have my glasses as I am pretty blurry without them.

I place them in the nearest drawer so that the glasses are safe there. I don't put it in the case anymore. I am so lazy to open it and close every now and then, I just put it in the nearest drawer to my bed.

that is good a nice safe place as long as it is easily reachable and you don't have to worry about knocking into them and knocking them on the floor where you might accidentally step on them that is a really nice place to keep them if you don't want to hassle with a case that you have to open and close like mine is.

probably not too bad of a spot to keep them as long as you remember that they are there.
we just have to be careful with our glasses so we don't do any damage to them since they are so fragile.
I hope all went well with your surgery and that you recover quickly.

Over the years I have had a loty of bad habits with my eyeglasses. i used to keep them in an eyeglass case when i was younger. As I have gotten older, I have picked up some lazy habits. I want to put my eyeglasses in easy reach. Sometimess i put them in different places. When I wake up in the morning, I have to remind myself where i laid my eye glasses. I try to keep them on the shelf above my bed now. It just makes life a little easier.

yeah it is not much fun when we need them to see and we don't remember exactly where we put them at the time that we need them I know that when I am looking for mine if that was the case it can be a pain trying to find them at times.
I have not had that problem since I went back to putting them in a case, because the case fits right on the end of the television stand that is right next to the bed beside me and makes it so much easier to find them when I need them.

From a very early age, I have gotten into a habit with safe storage of my eyeglasses when I was at sleep at night. The fact is I take them off before I go to bed. Then I place the eyeglasses in a case. Then I put the case in a place where you pretty much have to go out of your way to knock it down and it would be on purpose. That way my glasses are nice and safe when I sleep during the night and there are no worries of them getting smashed.
I will say that it is a good thing I keep my glasses. If they got broken or damaged in any way, then I would be in real trouble. I cannot see all that well without my glasses. Nearly blind in fact, the more that I think about it. So it just shows the importance of nice, safe glasses storage, to keep them safe. That extra bit of safety will go a long way in making my life a lot easier.

ever since I found the case in my old room at my parents house I have been putting them into the case, because that is so much easier I know that they are in a safe place for one and secondly I can find them much easier as well since I know that they are in the case and if I had them somewhere else not only would I have to worry about accidentally stepping on them, but I'd also have to find them if they were on the floor and the dresser would not be an option, because it is not close enough to where I sleep on the bed.

hi timhinyy.
i normally put them on top of the hifi set. it's easy to be spotted. and safe from being stepped on. occasionally if i'm away from home for a couple of days i would usually bring along the case as well to be kept in while i sleep or rest. it's easier to keep, a lot safer and easily found.

As long as you put them somewhere that you can easily reach and are not in any danger then that would be a pretty safe place for them I would imagine.
I like to have mine close by just in case I need them seeing as I am not too good at seeing very far without them on and its pretty blurry so if I am in a strange place like maybe a hotel room or something that would be a good time to have them close by me.

I am near-sighted but I usually just wear my glasses when I leave the house. When I return I remove them as soon as I get in and put them on the table. I only put them in a case when I wear my contacts and need to bring my glasses in case I need to change into them.

As long as you keep them in a safe place I see no reason if you don't need them why you can just have them on the table as long as you know where you put them for when you need them.
I can't see too well without mine and that is why I don't take them off too often.

If I'm going straight to sleep, I leave them on the bathroom sink, but if I'm reading in bed I'll leave them on my night table.
If I'm having a nap on the couch, I'll put them on the computer.

I don't usually take naps unless the nap is in my bed could never really fall asleep on or in a chair unless in was in the car.
I usually only take off mine when I go to sleep or when I am using the shower so that is why I keep mine in the case most of the time, since I usually only take them off to go to sleep.

hi tim! back when i had a pair, i was so bad at leaving them where they shouldn't be. sometimes when i was so engrossed with work and too tired prior to sleep... i'd find myself waking up with my glasses still on. hehe
sometimes it's on a pile of papers and documents on my office table, or in my bed after reading a book, or on top of the laptop. when i learned to keep it in a safer place, i make an effort to remove it before sleeping and placing it on the bookshelf, out of reach of smaller children and easy to find when i'm looking for them.
i dont wear glasses now since i lost my last pair in bali about 2 years ago. hehe the frustrating part was i didn't know where i left them... either in the hotel, the beach or the restaurant. hehe it was new back then and cost me a lot. to just lose it unknowingly frustrated me a lot that i didnt buy another one anymore as a replacement. hehe

I totally understand what you are saying about your glasses, I myself have one dog, two cats and a snake.....of course the snake doesn't do anything to my glasses, but.....the cats and dogs do, so what I do with mine is hang them on a lamp that I have in my bedroom, that way they are high enough the cats won't jump and get them and feed them to the dog. lol
