I have not had a laptop as long as some of my friends have had them so this would be something that they would know better about then I would. What is the best thing to use to clean you computer screen? what is the best thing to clean the computer keyboard? any suggestions about this would be appreciated and any stories that go along with an experience good or bad would be as well

For the keyboard, I just wipe it off with damp cloth and duster. As for the screen, there's a special formula from sony with special cloth to keep the lcd screen from having scratches. It's great.

There is an LCD cloth and cleaner if you would ask the computer company near you. It's like those cloths for our glasses/sunglasses which would be recommended to be the only thing we should use to clean them up.

I don't think I have heard of a special cloth to keep a screen from getting scratches that would be a nice thing indeed. I will probably just use a soft cloth for the screen not sure what for the keyboard as of yet.

When I bought my laptop I got a cleaning set along to keep the laptop clean. I use it every day, as dust has a apt to stay on a daily bases. I try not to use water as that is not so good. If you keep the laptop clean, it last longer...lol.

yes I would agree with you there the cleaner we keep them the better they should run and the longer that they should last. If only we had a way to keep the dust from coming back then we might be onto something there.

We need to take good care of our laptop. Dust is a problem. I think we should keep it in a place where there is less possibility of dust. Dusting and cleaning everyday. I cove it with a piece of cloth and clean the screen with colin solution, not the key board..

Yes it can be a bit of a pain, but since most of us have to deal with it at least we all know what the others are going through. I try to keep mine more out in the open away from places that collect dust badly and it still gets a little on it, but probably not as much as it could have.

yes it can get bad if we leave it collect for too long of a period of time so I will try to not let that happen so my machine can have a nice lifespan.

My laptop screens are full of dust if we turn off the laptop and look at close range, but if we are using it we are not aware of the dirt. So, i hardly clean the screen of my laptop. But when someone says it is too dirty, i usually uses my dry hanky. I don't think there is any problem in keeping the screen dirty. It is just the nature of the screen for me,,,, lol....

It doesn't seem to matter what we do with it something always seems to get on there, but all we can do is do our best to keep it as clean as we can for as long as we can and if we can do that hopefully that will be good enough. One thing we know for sure it will get dirty again at some point no matter what we do to it.

I think over time a huge amount of dust can build up on the keyboard as well as the computer monitor. The main thing I use for this is VDU screen wipes and compressed air to blow the dust away between the keys on the keyboard. As well as cleaning the outside the inside needs to be kept clean and free of dust as well, I don't know if you do this yourself. Once or twice per year I open up my computer and I blow the dust away using the can of compressed air. If this isn't done then the dust acts as a blanket and eventually this could lead to problems with your computer later on. Overall, it's nice to have a clean system and it will give you very good service if you do this on a regular basis. Andrew

yes I do agree with you if we let the dust get too built up in there it can cause some serious problems with our systems and it is best not to do that. I think I am more worried about the inside since I am not too sure how to get the laptop open since I am more used to the desktop computers and this is the first laptop that I have ever had. The keyboard and the screen will probably be the easiest to clean, but the inside is where you have to be extra careful not to do any damage, but I have to get in there first to see if I have any build up inside there as of yet. thanks for your response.

A keyboard duster I don't think I have seen one of those that could be a nice safe way to clean it too, but it is always nice to have options as to how to clean it and with what too.

As far as I am concerned, I usually clean the dust in my keyboard and the dust ion my laptop screen.I am so annoying about this dust. So I go to the computer shop to buy a special cloth ,which can help me clean the dust so much. I still enjoy it now.

yes it can get pretty built up on there pretty fast so that is something that I want to avoid so I figure if I take care of it now then it won't be too bad as it would be if I waited till later.

To get rid of the dust in my laptop screen I use a static electricity cleaner. It works pretty well for all kinds of screens, so I use it for the TV too. I use it too for the keyboard. If there's some special stain that can't be taken off as easily as dust, I use a special screen cleaner that I bought in a computer appliances shop.

It would be nice if we all could find something that could keep the dust off of these places that didn't involve having to keep it covered all of the time if one of us could invent that we could be rich I think.

I will do it when it needs it and since it really hasn't needed it too much as of yet I wasn't too worried about it, but since I am always looking at the screen I figured that would be a good place to start.

i normally use a wet-wipe for my laptop but not for the screen. and i use it regularly, especially the keyboard. for the screen i would use the softest tissue. a small vacuum normally meant for car-seats does a great job in removing the dust, those stuck in between the keys.

I guess a tissue would not be a bad idea either as it would be nice and soft, but how good does it do at getting the dust off of the screen. I'm not sure if I want to go with a vacuum for the keys that might be a little more power then I need for that chore.

i think a small vacuum clearer should be better.after that use a slightly wet rag to wipe it.if you do not want it dirty again, you can buy a piece of film to cover on it. have a nice day!

my keyboard is actually not the spot that is the most dusty that would be the screen and a little bit around the keyboard is a little dusty and that would probably be the best way using a cloth.
