I don't feel like answering my friends calls

I felt so bad, because I intentionally not wanting to answer my friends calls today. So, there were at least 10 missing calls on my cell phone. I don't know what was got into me today. I felt like to be alone, quiet and not be disturbed at the moment. I would want to focus working on my PC, and don't want to go anywhere. Maybe that was a moment of me acting up, and I want to alienate from people for a moment. Do you ever feel like that?

it happens some time to us. that we want to be with us only. even i do this some time. but i think this is really not a good way and we must not do these things really as they just put us far from our friends. and this could just make us bad for others. and we could really feel separated from our friends if we do this many times.

Sometimes we all feel like taking a holiday from reality, and that includes being alone for a while. I get days like that now and again, I don't want to answer the phone, go onto the computer, or go out. I just want to shut myself away, with a good book perhaps, and just chill out on my own.

Hi, swetashah. Yes, I get like this myself a lot too. When I don't want to be bothered and when I just want time for myself, I will alienate myself to a position of just being alone. I know how you feel, it is the same way for me too. We all need time for ourselves and it is okay to be alone.

You don't need to feel bad. If you wanted to be alone, your friends should respect your wishes. If it's an important call, they should have left you a message & wait for your call back. I usually put my phone on a viberate or silent when I feel like that. I will check my phone messages every few hours but if it's not an important call, I usually ignore it.

Yes, i feel like this from time to time, especially on weekends when i'm supposed to hang out with my friends. I just want to stay alone dealing with my own things without being disturbed by anyone else. It's like i'm feeling tired both in body and mind and wanting a relaxation. At such times, i simply turn off my cell phone to avoid any missed calls which may cause misunderstandings. I guess this is a quite common phenomenon. I mean for most of the time we want to be in a circle socializing with others, but there are also times when we just want to be alone.

Hi swetashah,
I feel like that a lot. I have friends that call just to chat which is fine if I have the time. If I am trying to do things then I do just ignore their calls. I have an answering machine and so if it is important I will drop whatever I'm doing for them. Most of the time they are just bored and want to chat so I don't feel bad. I'm not bored and I don't have time to chat. I call them back when I am bored and just want to chat too. If they are busy then that's fine. We'll catch up. I don't like just talking on the phone and my friends know that. I'd rather the just stop by.
