Internet, online being miss used?

I think that there is nothing to be afraid about in terms of our future and the Internet. It is true that there are viruses out there and who knows what else may happen. But many see the important role that Internet plays in the globalized society so I'm sure money is also being invested to implement security measures and other infrastructures to sustain it's healthy survival.

Abused and misuse happens to almost anything - be it the internet, food, and fellow people. We have to take in mind that as with all technology, the internet is just a means to an end. The way that it is used depends on the one who is using it, and the direction for its use depends on the people who control it. I think that the great thing about the internet is that it basically runs like a democracy - the people who use it (which means common users like you and me) still ultimately have the power to direct its use and to change it. So take heart, even you have some power lying at your fingertips :-)

There are a lot of ways that the internet is used in manners that it should not be used in, but there are equally as many (and honestly many more) ways that the internet is used in ways for which it was originally intended. We use the internet for keeping in touch with friends that are far away. We use the internet for sharing pictures with our friends and family. We use the internet for research purposes. We use the internet as an instrument for our education, just to name a few.

Well it's just how it is. there are these so called 'black hat hackers' which are considered bad hackers. these are the ones that create viruses. there are also 'white hat hackers' and they are the good ones who puts out viruses created by black hat hackers. in a way, yeah it seems the internet is being missused but i hope it will be maintained in the future.

I don't think it is in the future that we need to worry about the terrorist using the internet, but right now. There are sites already on here that show terrorist camps, and I'm sure that many messages are being sent back and forth between them right now at the moment. What the future will bring in attacks on us, will only get worse. There has to be somoene monitoring this internet some where that can help with stopping this from getting any farther in their plans against us, or any other country. It does not matter what some one invents, there is always the bunch that will miss use it to their advantage, whether it be the internet, the phone, but I do think it should be monitored very closely for messages sent between terrorist groups.

I believe that as long as the internet exists, there will be abuse to the internet. It isn't something that makes me happy though. I've been seeing that there are more and more viruses that are popping up on the computers and it is something that really drives me insane. I just don't seem to understand why there are people that wish to take advantage of other people in these kinds of ways. It is just wrong to behave like that.

Oh yes its being misused all the time but dont worry, Government agencies are now keeping en eye on everything thats going on. What worries me is that its not private anymore. I dont worry much about the future, I try to look at it on the positive side. If some terrorists want to make plans on the internet, well Im sure the FBI or any other agencies will keep an eye on them.

The Internet is here to stay until some better technology comes out. What we have to do is help those who are not that savvy because there will always be wolves as themselves or wolves in sheep's clothing. I help when I can. I get email telling me to watch out for this and that, I research and respond. Sometimes people may get upset with me for trying to help, or "hopefully" they won't fall the the scams and false information floating around out there.

well, the internet, as free and open as it is -- regulations are hardly there, more of the self-imposed kind -- is also fair ground for all kinds. and when i say all kinds, you can think of all the good and the bad, and also the in-betweens. so, it is a matter of self-regulation, coming from self-respect, that will make the cyberworld a lot more better... especially for our children.

Advancement in technology is essential for the world to survive. What we really lack is respect and sound mind to care for the world where we live in and to respect the rights of other human being. Why do other people just think of improving our daily life instead of terrorizing us?

Everything that is made, whatever the intentions of its creation, can and probably will be abused. Just look at our history, it's full of alternative uses for inventions and ideas. The only thing we can really do is control the self and know there are others out there that will use things to harm us in various ways.

The beautiful thing about the internet is that it is totally anarchic and nobody can control what's on it, not the west nor the East. It is in a sense a whole different country, a cyber-country if you like. With the existence of the internet, it has made connection much easier and faster. We can't do anything to stop the advancing technologies and it is up to the users of internet how they use the internet and for what purpose.

There will always be terrorists and evil in the world. Whether it is through the internet or through other means. It is always going to be an issue. All that we can do is continue to do everything in our power to protect ourselves and to continue to fight the forces of evil that surround us. Programmers and developers are always working to create new programs and methods to combat evil, viruses, hackers, etc. While it is impossible to eliminate all of the problems, there are a lot that are being combated and prevented everyday.

Hello Vine, Yes, internet can be misused. Actually, it is already being misused. Though not that bad, but still it is being used badly by others. We really can not control what people would do with the internet, it is their own choice. But we, as a good people would not think of using it badly, and as long as we don't do harm to others we can just enjoy and make good use of the internet. Let's just be a good example to the younger generations. I think, even without the internet, people who are bad, would just always think of a way to do something bad.

internet is a system and technology. and each system has its advantage and disadvantage. i think even an aeroplane is for people but used by terrorist. so you could not stop developing new things. i think there is a need to ensure the bad use of technology.

Yes you are right .. in this time many persons miss uses of internet.. because they miss uses in many types as a fake id.. and many other types of miss uses.. i know many peoples who make their fake id on social networking websites.. and try to talk with opposite gender.. so i think this is miss uses of internet.. have a nice day and keep mylotting always..
