I am more of a dog-lover, but I also like cats, so if I am gonna have to choose, I'd say Persian cats! They look very furry and I love that! Another breed that I would want to have is Scottish fold. I find their ears very interesting and they are very gentle cats.

I most definitely like the siamese cat. I've had a number of them and they're wonderful cats! I do like the persian too but they're too much work and their skin is so sensitive to the brushing so no, I don't want a persian for those reasons. Siamese females are very demanding and can have very strong personalities so only the patient can handle the breed. Siamese males are more laid back and easy going and much more loving than the female however, the female can be loving too when taught. Both male and female are VERY vocal! I talked to mine. They'd meow at me and I'd talk to them like a real conversation going on. LOL They're just trying to get your attention when they "talk" so I give it to them with a few pets or by talking, depending on what they want. Siamese cats HATE to be left alone. They'll cry till their voices are gone with laryngitis which takes a few days to happen. I know because it happened to my mom's cat. She went away for a couple of weeks and my brother took care of her cat while she was gone and he came home one day after work and she couldn't speak! It's amazing how much a siamese depends on us human companions. That's why it's best to have another cat to keep the other company when their human companion is gone.

well, I see that you know much about the Siamese ones and that means that you are really keen on that breed. yeah, Siamese cats have their own personalities, and maybe that's the most interesting thing inthat breed!

Siamese. I prefer a cat that looks like it is smart enough to not chase parked cars.

I have a Siamese her blue eyes are a dream. Plus I like short hair cats better, long hair cats make me sneeze. Besides you have to brush it 2 to three times a day and I think it take away the fun of adoring the cat if you have to pamper it. Don't get me wrong but I've had both types and I prefer short hair to long hair cats.

hello there! yeah, I aLSO prefer short-hair cats because they don't require so many cares about the hair!

I think Siamese are more beautiful with their coloring. Persians are also attractive but I am guessing long hair sheds more.

yeah, I am on the same meaning about the long hair of the PErsian cats. well, some of them have also a nice coloring, but you are right- the Siamese ones are better!

I don't have a particular favourite breed of cat, Moomin is a moggy and proud of it LOL So long as your cat is friendly and happy, well behaved around the house, loving and a good companion, then any cat is a lovly cat. Persians need a lot of care and grooming, while Siamese can sometimes tend to be a little unfriendly.

yeah, i know that PErsians need a lot opf cares, and that's why i prefer the Siamese ones!

Although Persians are beautiful cats, I have always preferred Siamese. I have three right now, and they all have such wonderful personalities. Murphy is 16 years old and such a snuggler when we're in bed. Khuay is the clown and the cat voted most likely to get into trouble (which he can do with three paws tied behind his back!). Willy is built like a quarter back (he really is a "tank" cat. He's heavy and sturdy. No fat, just muscle.) and is content to sleep beside me when I'm on the computer. His big thing is being hand fed dry cat kibble. I had a woman give me a Persian once. I didn't really want it, but my room mate said yes I would love the cat. I came home from work to this cat in the house. The first thing it did was beat the crap out of my Siamese boy. Then she hurked up the most humongous hairball I'd ever seen, and that hair ball was hurked up in the middle of my bed. Finally she went into my closet and peed on my brand new $100 shoes. I'd never treated myself to shoes that expensive before, and I lost it. I chased her through the house, and my room mate came home and opened the door just in time as the cat raced through the door with me in hot pursuit hollering "YOU ARE GOING TO RUE THE DAY YOU WERE BORN A CAT!!!" The cat raced home and the owner called to see if I wanted the cat back. The room mate stated that there was a serious personality conflict and she needed to find another home for the cat. That was the one and only time I had a Persian in my possession.

well, guess that you are a real cat lover or maybe a Siamese lover! it is really nice and I am really surprised about that because till now I have never met a person who has that old cat, which means that you really know how to take care for it Well, you have really had a bad experience with this Persian cat :)

Hi phoenix! I really don't know too much about either breed! My friend had 2 Siamese cats years ago, but I really don't remember too much about them! All I know about the breed is that they say they are very vocal! My cat Luna is very vocal and I have no idea what breed he is because he is a mixed breed of I don't know what! And Persian cats I don't know anything about, except they need alot of care because of their hair! You can look up all you want to know about them on the Internet! There are lots of cat sites! I have two of the sweetest cats ever and they are mixed breeds and I have always had mixed breeds of cats and have loved them them so much! I think I would love any cat no matter what breed they were!
30 Mar 10
yeah, my cat is also a mixed breed like the most that I have ever had , but I like it and it is vocal one too :) as I know Siamese are also very danger if you make them angry- I have heard of cases when the cat came in the night and graze its owners eyes. well i am not sure is it true or not, but i have seen what they can do when you angry them!

I have had all kinds of cats, but never a Siamese. I would have to say that I prefer the Persian breed. Most Siamese cats aren't very affectionate, even for a cat, and they make strange noises. Most of them seem a little high strung and a little off. My friend has a cat that is part Siamese and he looks like a Siamese, but he doesn't really act like one.
30 Mar 10
well, then you haven't had all kinds of cats yeah, they really make strange noises and sometimes can really drive you crazy well, about your friend- maybe the dominating breed from them both is not the Siamese one, that's why the cat doesn't act like Siamese one!

Yeah, Persian are cute, but have a lot of long hair, which must be cleaned everyday :) yes, I love cats, and my favorite breed is the British short-hair grey cat Do you know how it looks?

How i wish i can have both! but right now what i have is a very cute and naughty siamese cat named mekmek. And he dont like the thought of me looking for another cat , although we also have those native cats in our place when it comes to breed cats i just have one and thats my siamese always naughty, always funny and loving in a way ;) you should try them out too. I mean siamese then you try persian afterwards , i believe persian can be a lil bit demanding when it comes to grooming.Unless your not that busy most of the time then you can try persian too ;)
29 Mar 10
yeah, i have a had a Siamese cat long time ago, and she was also so naughty as yours. I guess that's from the breed and all the Siamese cats are the same.

I would prefer the Siamese cat for those who don't have asthma. Siamese is very cute and cuddly.

well, I guess that Persian cats are really more beautiful, but they have too long hair and i don't like it very much, because there is a lot to clean after them :)

I don't care for Persians, I don't like the flat faces they have now and I don't like taking care of their long fur. I do, however, love Siamese, I love their active and interactive personalities, they are a lot of fun to have. Granted, I don't have a purebred Siamese, but those with the traits are among my favorite ones of the cats that I have...

I don't have a preference. It's the personality of the cat that I'm interested in, not the breed.
29 Mar 10
well, guess you are right dawnald! if the cat is a obedient one and it is gentle with you and your kids then the breed really doesn't matter
