Well, it was not my first discussion in here by any chance. But it was my first discussion since my return in here.
I started it yesterday and BINGO...!! It made it to the MYLOT DIGEST. WOW... I am thrilled.
Yes, yes I know making it to the digest is easy. If a lot of active members are your friends and respond in your discussion and if you reply back as well, then it is a piece of cake. More often than not you will end up on the digest.
But then again, not all discussions make it there and so I was excited that it made it there. Plus if a discussion make it to the digest, the chances are that it will receive even more responses. I have seen there are members who usually replies only to the discussion which make it to the digest...
Do you feel excited when your discussions make it to that list? Are you actually subscribing the digest? Or is it immaterial to you whether you make it to the digest or not?

Congrats on making it to the Digest
I seldom check out the Mylot digest which arrives in my inbox each day---some times i would be shocked to see my post listed in there ---but i never take it to be a special achievement---it just brings a small smile on my face
I do respond to others posts which make it to the digest(when i check it once in a blue moon) provided it interests me and i have something to share in there.

I am happy if my discussion appear in the digest. It is a great honor having discussions in the digest. You can imagine there are hundreds of discussions being circulated daily in mylot and having yours chosen in the digest is indeed a joy, a recognition that your discussion merit special attention. It motivates us further to create more quality discussions.

Hi Zandi,
that is what I am talking about. You say that quality discussions get that special attention.
But I believe that is not the case always. Many times very silly discussions get in the digest just because many people reply to it. "The Favourite Ice Cream discussions" are glaring examples. Even my discussion was not at all a good one. There were far better discussions than that started yesterday. But they did not make it to the top. Again not all discussions in the digest are bad either. There are some really cool discussions which merit that special honour.
Thank you for the response. I hope you make it to the digest many many more times. See you around.

I do have a certain sense of pride when a discussion that I've started makes its way to the digest because that normally means that I will have plenty of responses to reply back to. I do subscribe to the digest and I save responding to those discussions for a day when there aren't a lot of discussions that my friends have started (ie this response seven months later). I think that the digest is a good thing and I know that I will always have discussions to respond to as long as I use it to my advantage.

Making it to the digest or not doesn't matter we are just glad you're back, specially Sunny.
Sunny was a bit unstable when you were away refusing to take his vitamins if you wont be the one giving it to him
How many laws have you made while you were away?

Hi Hex,
All that I remember ever giving Sunny was a hard knock on the head to get his brains to work. They do need some external physical force in order to start working. But even that proves insufficient sometimes.
And hey, I do not make any laws. I just find new ways to break them.

Hi sagnik, and congratulations. In all my years of myLotting, and having a few discussions with forty plus responses, one made triple figures, I have never had one make the digest. I cannot say why, but to say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. Keep up the good work, and maybe, when I start discussions again, I might be fortunate enough to make the digest.

Thanks for the summary sagnik, but it has shattered my confidence, and it will probably be some time before I start a discussion.

Hi Mipen,
That is really strange and disappointing. One of the reasons for that might be, your discussion got responses later on. The digest only has the list of the most popular discussions started on a particular day. So, if you get small number of responses on the day you started it, and then you get a whole bunch of them on the next day, then it will not be in the digest.
Another thing is that the number of responses are not the only factor. You have to have the most number of posts in your discussion, that is, both responses and comments. Even discussions with very low responses can make it to the digest if there are huge number of comments.
Oh, and if there is a more popular discussion than yours in the same interest, that discussion will get preference in the digest.
I hope you will get huge responses again in your discussions and do try to interact by commenting. That will help your discussion to make it to the mylot digest. Best of luck.

hi sagnik42 congrats on being in the digest, must be a good feeling
and I have been there several times too. I have not even watched it'lately
as I have been busy with other things but I take it. I do not only reply to just those who are in the digest, I go wherever I want and respond to any discussion that interests me in any category. If I get twenty responses to a discussion I am happy , if I get a lot more I am really thrilled. I do try to keep up on my comments to my discussions but
'sometimes I fall behind for health reasons. but I promist I will catch up.

Hi Hatley,
Even I have that problem of falling behind in my own discussion. Can't get back to every response. I know it is my duty to atleast offer a thanks to the responders, but then it tends to become boring after a while.
I have seen you participate everywhere and you do participate a lot. Wish I was as active as you are.

It is really immaterial to me if I make it into the Digest. I don't post alot and when i do I don't do it for any other reason but than to get responses. Responses from newbies or people I haven't interacted with before is interesting and it is always interesting to get their input as well.

Hi Celtic,
It feels great to interact and read different opinions from different people.
I think you are into writing and stuff and love to hear different views and opinions. It is a really good thing to do. Plus interaction with new people is always interesting as well as refreshing.

Check you out!!! Well done!!
I must admit when I first made the digest I was as pleased as you however I now rarely read it when it lands in the inbox!!!
I've only been back recently myself & normally just check out the home page for active discussions!!
Well done & hoipefully see you in the digest again soon x

Hi Mrsl,
I also rely on the home page for discussions. But I do check the digest as well.
But many people ignore it. It is nothing special actually, just a list of the most popular discussions of the day. I like it to make it there, but then it doesn't mean much. Maybe I will stop checking it out as well.
Thank you for the response. See you around.

That is great that you made it into the daily digest.
I have been wondering if we see our own discussions in there or whether we do not get our own discussions as it would be a waste of space. After all, we are not going to comment on our on discussions are we!
I have wondered this as I have not seen any of my discussions in the digest and I read it every day. Perhaps mine are not interesting enough! Most of the time these days I have already commented or seen most of them, as most were started by my friends here and I had already been notified by email a day earlier of the discussion.
By the way, this one made the Digest too as this is where I saw it! Well Done!

Hi Raw,
This one made it as well. You can try interacting with the people who respond to your discussions. The most popular/hot discussions of the day make it to the Mylot Digest. So, if you comment to the responses you get and they comment back and so on and so forth then the chances are that your discussion will make it to the digest.
The quality of discussion is hardly a factor here, but do try to post discussions within the guidelines otherwise you will not see your discussion anywhere in mylot, let alone the digest.

Yeah, I do all of that and have lots of active friends here, but they never get on there for some reason. I think my discussions in the past have been too specific and not general enough to appeal to a wide group of people.
But I am not going to start a discussion about something just to get lots of responses if I am not interested in in the topic, so I will keep discussing things that interest me and one day, they might gel with people a little more mainstream than me!

thats pretty cool that that happened. it can be hard to write a discussion that will make it to the top. but i guess all you have to do is make the discussion really interesting to everyone in order for that to happen. which isnt always so impossible to do.

Hi Basqui,
Make good friends in here, friends who will visit your discussion and respond. Of course, your discussion must appeal to them, otherwise they will not respond.
The best way to make it to the digest is by interacting with the people who has responded. Comment in their responses and if they comment back, then you leave another comment if possible. This way you can start a conversation or rather have a discussion. That will help you make it to the digest.

Many members do not have their notifiers on. So, they do not know whether someone is actually commenting back in their box. But on the other hand many people do have their notifiers on. So, you would just have to be lucky to find the second kind of people. I am sure with time you will find some.
Try to make some good friends. Visit their discussions if you think you can participate and respond. I am sure they will do the same in return.

Good for you. As I understand it the daily list of discussions I receive is based on my personal interests not just the discussions with the most responses. I do glance at it and respond occasionally such as I am doing now.

I do not know about that White, as I have seen discussions in the digest which were not my interests at that time. Relationship was one such interest which I joined after responding to a discussion from the digest. I never paid much attention to this, but that is what I remember happened.

hi sagnik do you also think you get paid if you get a ton of responses
because if so you are completely wrong. we who wrote the responses are the ones who get paid for them so if you do not comment back
no matter how many responses you get you will only earn on what you yourself type. like any job if you work for an employer you get the check. if your neighbor works for your employer you do not get her pay she gets it. simple as that you post and type you get paid, I post to your discussion I get paid. so do comment back.so many here are thrilled to get a lot of responses thinking they get the pay and so
\they do not even bother to respond then wonder why they did not make anything on the discussion. it pays to read mylots information really.

Hi, Hatley,
Sorry to catchup on this discussion so late. I have been very irregular here. But I did know that you have to participate in order to earn. So, I have always tried to comment when people respond to my discussions. I like interacting with people and what is better than doing it in the discussions. Thank you for the response.

Congratulations on making it into the digest upon your return. That is awesome. It has been a while since one of my discussions has made the digest, but like you, I am thrilled when it happens because that means that I most likely will get responses to the discussion that I may not have otherwise gotten. I'm one of those people that uses the digest as a tool to build the number of discussions that I respond to because I save the digests and will use those for topics to respond on when there aren't a lot of discussions that my friends have recently started. In fact, using digest is the only time that I really respond to older discussions.

Congratulation! It great you made into Mylot Digest, you must be really happy. I subscribing to the digest and I find your discussion in it. Can you share how you get there, how many response you need to get there, share please? Maybe I be improving if you told me the tip

Hi Nangisha,
There is no hard and fast rule as to THIS will take your discussion to the digest. Having said that, discussions make it to the digest when they are popular. By popular I mean, the discussion which has received a lot of posts. There is no fixed number and not every post has to be a response. If you get small number of responses and huge number of comments, then also you can make it to the digest.
Interacting with the responders can help you to take the discussion to the digest.
